I'm Belgian, at school we talked about the subject and most of the Europeans think your law on it is ridiculousy over the top. Further more you guys spout abuse way too fast.

Yeah, because hitting a child (ages 0-7) really teaches them stuff.
Punishment and correction should not come in the form of violence, you can punish a child without raising your hand.
And as they get older you can even reason with them.
So no, we don't have 'too strict' laws about child abuse, they're fine just the way they are.

Yes there comes a moment in a childs life where a slap can be justified. Those moments where reason is no where to be found and you have to establish where they went way over the line.
Granted with good parenting that won't happen more than once or twice. But as usual a swede always takes a slap and make it bigger.

What exactly justifies slapping a child?
I can't see any reason why slapping a child can be justified or that it should be done, maybe grab them by the arm and raise your voice to show them you mean business.
"My co-worker took my stabler out of spite so I went up to the bitch and gave him a slap for good measure."
That action would not only get you fired but also probably warrant a police report.
