I've got a problem whet i start the game the splash screen with loading apears and then it crashes with the error:
AppName: civilization4.exe AppVer: 0.21.0.1674 ModName: ~df394b.tmp
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00084c9c
Have anyone encountered this problem, if yes please reply and tell me how to fix it(if you did fix it Smile).I'm using the clonecd release of the game and done the same thing on other systems.

I have EXACTLY the same problem! I have tried everything people said on different forums, but nothing worked.

sd4hide seems to temporaily delete a few Registry entries - ones which identify SCSI ports. I tried deleting them manually one by one, and it seems that while the entry corresponding to my actual DVD drive is still there, the game asks for a DVD, but once this entry is deleted, the game crashes in the above fashion. Antiblaxx does more or less the same thing, so with it the result is same.

This may have something to do with the way our DVD drives are installed, but I'm not sure. In any case I pretty sure that at least in my case sd4hide and Antiblaxx simply do not work. I'm now resigned to waiting either for a NoDVD patch or when I can actually buy the game next Friday.

However, if anyone managed to find a workaround, please say so!

Yeah, supposedly, for some ppl, daemon tools doesnt work and u need to mount in alcohol 1.9.5 3105

DT and Alcohol both work for me tho...in conjunction with Safedisk4_Hide...gunna pick up this game this weekend tho...I suggest anyone of u using the "backup" version buy this game and support the dudes who made it.

So if I undestand the problem is generated because of the protection, I thought it was something else. Thanx for the reply.

I was such a stupid idiot!

For those who still can't get it to work - mount the MDS file - not the MDF! And it works using above instructions.
