Here's a Cargo Mod that enables more industry chains:
http://www.train-fever.net/filebase/index.php/Entry/8-Cargo-mod
I recommend playing first with the default industries though and apply the mod after you get familiar with the mechanics.

Also: 3DMGAME-Train.Fever.Incl.Preorder.Special.Content.Cracked
The game seems to be good and quite complex. I need to play more ofc.
The graphics engine is nice and runs great with maximum settings even on my ancient rig (q6600 with a 6850 ATI).
You can use your custom music too by converting your mp3's to ogg and placing then into the music folder.

i'm starting to notice lots of cracks. Trains getting pointless jammed. industry wonkiness (e.g. goods going past a perfectly good industry right beside a cargo train station and going by foot down the road to an identical industry)

I haven't noticed any of those yet. For sure not jammed trains unless I do something wrong with signals etc. I'm yet learning how the cargo/industries mechanic works.
Even in this current state the game is way better than CIM for sure.

Just had an oil producer stop using a train. Train was fine, hadn't touched it, sat there for 2 years waiting for oil despite previously carrying oil for a couple years. The guy just decided to walk it 1/4 of the way across the map rather than use the train he had been using. Definitely some cargo wonkery going on here.

So you can only transport 4 goods or so? Tried the game a bit but i must say im a bit dissapointed. Everything feels a bit clunky and the lack of different goods kinda ruin it for me. Maybe more goods come later on in the game??

trried both 3dgame and codex versions, both can be launched with new game, but after it just drops to desktop.. should not be because of the crappy demo iso..

Cool have to check it out, thanks
Edit: After some more playing around i'm happy i didn't buy it. This game is still beta in my eyes. It should be easy to build tracks and such but instead every time i want to finish my track i can't join the tracks together. OMG the terrain alignment errors, it just doesn't make any sense.
Then i try to upgrade my tracks or station and see that isn't even possible, it's still on the To Do list from the developers. Getting pretty sick of these beta builds that get released as full games.

So openTDD have horrible passenger system and it always offput me fromt playing opentdd much (well apart the fact that it becomes huge spamm fest longer games goes on )
But it seems even worse in here.
I created my first bus line spanning 2 towns and about 8 both road side stops and let it go.
At first I had no passengers , eventually they came and I kept adding new horse carriages, but my line still had 0 profit, after about 2 -3 years I had my "first passenger transited" message , thats when my first carriage made whole loop , which strangely enough took years, time sure flow fast.
I didnt catch exact stop passengers left carriage but it wasnt first stop( one they were picked up ), so why did they had to travel whole loop just to travel to one or two stops down the lane?
Same issue is repeating with my other carriages.
Maybe I've completely failed in some obvious way, or its just messed up.

The devs shoot out 3 patches in the last 2 days of beta and the first release day. I´m sure they will fix any existing bugs in a short time.
For jammed trains and problems with the pass/cargo system I really can´t say anything because I don´t have the problems. I watched a lot of Beta LPs so I know what to do. It´s very important not to rely on the experiences people made with TTD. This is a different game.

You can't cross tracks over properly which is a mess. Double tracks with a fork..just doesn't work.
You can't curve the outside one properly which means you're stuck faking it and making a mess.
bridge building to make overpasses is also really brutal. Needs a grid desperately and the ability to set both the height of the start and end point (so you can make the bridge over first, then add the ramps otherwise you end up with a lopsided bridge).

I'm gonna wait till they fix the game, I cant even build a bridge, and the landscaping options don't work.
Tried 6 games, all ended up with me being frustrated. It feels very unpolished.
Transport Tycoon (Dune 2 / Pizza Tycoon) were my first games. I still play OpenTTD after all these years, and this doesn't come close to it. Not by a LONG shot.
It has 3D, the trains look nice and well animated, that's it.

pretty much..not just bugs...poor design decisions. Replacing old vehicles is a huge fucking hassle.
gotta bring up the vehicle list
click the vehicle
click the line tab
click send to depot
go to the depot
click it
sell it
click buy a new vehicle
click the vehicle
assign it to a line
shoot yourself in the fucking head because that took 10 goddam clicks.
