Turning it all the way into a co-op action game. Fuck those cunts for getting my hopes up.
So it's now Alone in the dark: Vatican edition.
You play a 10 year old that has been lost from his group and must now try to flee from the Vatican, everywhere you look there is some priest staring at your young ass, and its getting dark..... RUN LIL DERP!
Inspired By H.P. Lovecraft
The poor guy must be spinning in his grave.
I know he was an racist asshat (not that this was uncommon in his time) but he surely doesn't deserve how his name and work gets abused in every bad horror game or movie recently.

Future dev quote: "We've turned loneliness into the most social experience ever!"
Perfect... that's the reason I didn't like previous ALONE in the Dark games, no way to talk and play with friends, it felt like it was disconnecting me from the entire world. No fun.
on a serious remembering, i spent a good weekend on the first one. it was a blast. the way that gunshoot sounded on my brand new thunderboard of those times that was what... some 18 years ago? maybe more... 20... or so.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
A darkness has fallen over the town of Lorwich. Monstrous hordes emerge from beyond the realm of nightmares to sow chaos on the land. As one of four heroes, you must battle the minions of the old ones with the force of arms, and the power of illumination.
Inspired by the writing of H.P. Lovecraft, Atari’s Alone in the Dark series is recognized as the “Father of the Survival Horror Genre”. Alone in the Dark: Illumination explores this dark legacy with a terrifying, survival-action horror experience.
Battle through dynamic environments filled with bloodthirsty beasts. Build your party as you rescue your companions including the Witch, Engineer and Priest, each with a unique set of special abilities and weapons.
Danger lurks in every shadow. While your friends may help, and the end of the night you are always Alone of the Dark.
Four Unique Heroes: The Hunter, the Witch, the Priest and the Engineer each offer unique gameplay experiences with distinctive weapons, skills and powers to unlock.
Play as a Team or Alone in the Dark: Play with all four characters in co-operative multiplayer mode, build smaller teams for greater challenge, or face the darkness alone.
Diverse Environments: Four campaigns with multiple levels take players through the blasted landscape of Lorwich, and deep below to unearth the mysteries of this forsaken township.
Eldritch Horror: Inspired by the writing of H.P. Lovecraft, beings from beyond madness, including Roof Walkers, Shapes and Spawns will haunt your nightmares.
Dynamic Environments: Interact with dynamic environmental puzzles to change the structure of the map and advance your quest.
Harness the Power of Illumination: Light up maps to create safe zones, and damage your foes.

Resident Alone in the Gears of Evil War 6 to the rescue!
Suddenly The New Nightmare doesn't look so bad if compared to this. (it actually wasn't too terrible to begin with, imo. I quite enjoyed that rough beast )
