If you have the time, it gives a good perspective on many current events especially since it was written before the Ukraine war and thus some of its outlooks became reality for the worse.

It certainly gives a little too much credit to the influence of Russia but that cannot distract from the will of Russia to influence the western sphere.

I'd say, the more or less philosophical concepts in the beginning are maybe the most stretchy parts and may be boring to some.

Don't get too alarmed though, as I said its mostly a spotlight on Russias will. Whether its always succeeding is another question.

Now you can obviously chose to just read the bad reveiws and dismiss it based on that or you can decide to read it yourself and form an own opinion rather than a parroted one.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I have no idea what you are talking about.

Anyway, if you had said: "But Russia isn't that powerful." Just consider that they don't need to be. They can use the frailty of the social nets created by neoliberalism and immigration to push the right buttons and fuel the polarization and support some key players.

The fact that we can see all these motions from miles away (speaking about French outlets, the pro-Putin commenters are so obvious it hurts, they constantly parrot the same talking points about the Western world's decadence and so on).. yet fall for them still, is nothing but pathetic.
