There's a reason why groups like ShackTac, United Operations and so on refuse to play ARMA 3 in coop. It's just shit.

Because not all of their mods are ported yet, and netcode has some issues
A3 engine is superior in every aspect
Just buggier, because bohemia games are always buggy after launch
It is an evolving product and sure to be supported for a long time, like bohemia games always have, with substantial improvements years after launch
We know the dayz netcode improvements will make their way to A3 at some point, and the mod scene is active.
I don't see a long lifetime for A2, outside dayz mods

i play arma 2 cause of the better and more content , arma 3 can have all the nice shiny engine features and what not but if i cant play with my AK and other real weapons i cant get into it.

Only mods like dayz epoch would get me to play it again.

Possible noobish question (first time playing anything arma) - In singleplayer campaign theres a speech bobble with explanation mark in it containing some hint - how do I open/use that? Popup says something like use 0-8? thats the look/camera keys on a numpad?

There's more than 1 AK mod, in fact I use a whole pack, it's very detailed

There's also a port of the A2 weapons

Too bad the A2 weapon part is made so poorly with no thought. Lets reload a PKP like it's an M16 guys.

As I bought it from the sale and decided to finally try it, it runs like crap Razz
20-30 fps, makes no difference at all whether I play everything at minimum or everything at maximum.

Any clues? :I (even at minimum it's not locked to 30 (could be explained by VSync))

Or is it just so badly optimized.

Thats strange tbh, I have a similar setup to yours if the sig is correct (i5@4,6 + GTX680) and its around 60 with most things up high or max. You have i7 could HT cause some issues to Arma3? Seems unlikely tho

http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?148802-ARMA-3-FPS-fix!

you could try this, even if some people say it doesn't work, I gained like ~10fps. I tested it with various missions. Don't forget to writeprotect the file and enjoy a smoother mouse as a bonus.

Basic tutorial - though now there's a tutorial campaign too - plus part of the armory feature from previous games.
(Can't view vehicles and such unfortunately or other player/npc models.)

Try the SaW server based in the UK

They run a pretty tight ship copwise. Alot of cops there are quite friendly and patient which is quite rare with all the idiots running around. Wink
