this is the way I see FIFA and PES:
FIFA = arcade
PES = realism
it's just what you like more. If you like to do all fantastic stuff you should play FIFA, if you're going for more realism, PES is there for you. It just what like more

Pity they don't still release console dev kits as PC cards. Could've probably picked up a cheap one soon.
Still, you can still get the Winning Eleven 8 International release for the PC and it's a much tighter game than PES4. I think the way Konami work is just have a project that they constantly refine and improve, just releasing builds as and when the time comes around.

If you can do one twos off players backs, by accident or intentionally, you maybe play the game to much
I think the difference between PES and Fifa, as with all the best games, PES allows you to become incredibly skillfull, whereas Fifa, at least the versions I've played, winning was a case of solving how to score, like an equation. With PES if you want to be good you have to really learn, and how good you become depends on how much effort you put in, like real life I guess.

Same crap over and over again... I loved this game back when it was called International superstar soccer, playability was superb, the passes were always done like I had in mind, nice pressure and anticipation from the players. It was pure madness, non stop tourneys at my house,extreme feelings...dunno how to explain better. Then came PES and all was ruined, stupid passes above all, I mean i pass the freakin ball to the guy next to me and most times my player just passes the ball to the opponent!!? Trought passes were also perfect in ISS and now they are crap in PES. Free kicks the same thing. Really, Konami lost one of their biggest fans. All that has improved in the game is graphics. Anyway, besides this it's still the best game for PC. FIFA is for people who like arcade, you can make the same move 90% of the times and score a goal..craaap.

Agreed. Plays like a dream but loads of people will refuse to buy it because the textures aren't up to much. Steve Finnan looks like a Hari Krishner. Hopefully the Wolf patch will be out soon.
I love the title screen though, John Terry looks like he wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire.

Some people like, others dont. Good, as I prefer more games to fit everyones taste than just one going the middle road.
I like this game a lot. I am going to test it soon. I played a lot the WE9, which is quite similiar, only problem with we9 for me was that it was too easy to score. Will prolly buy it from play.com if it runs well on my sucky laptop.

would be to sweet to be true, especially due the fact that the game has no lan support and therefor it would made absolutly no sense to have an other serial than the one which came with the .nfo ...
