No seriously this game is 'the' game to pay for, put in a glass display pray to it everyday and cherish it like you would a god, that is what you need the clone for to play the game, worship the retail one.
all of the above is true if your a fan of good strategy and not RTS, but real strategy with planning.

I sense someone will get banned... AFAIK, it's not allowed to post where to get torrents here (read the red remarks on the first post). I suggest that you edit your post, or else you will have to face not only the moderators wrath, but worse yet, the kiddies.

I got my pre order copy today from EB games, but seeing as there was a shipment error fewer games got shipped out, so my buddy didnt get his, though he already paid for it. So guess him and I will just being lanning off one copy till he gets his. ANyways game is great, I was questioning the graphics before but I see they are well done and the units being bigger than the trees makes them stand out easier. The game is great, they have taken a great formula and improved on it immensly. Lol first game I spread Christianity over Japan and China lol. Anywas so much fun, game has soo much more depth, ill be playing this non stop all day today. Once agian sid deserves the money go and buy it, you people in Europe and other far away places =) I understand, but go buy it when it comes out in the store near you.

Lol find it funny some kiddies posting on ISO news about how the graphics are POS and turn based is shit and civ is the worst game ever, lol stupid noobs =)

Is it same old, same old since the 1993-version but with 3D-graphics, or have they actually improved it somehow?

I prefer the first rendition to any of the later versions.

Yes, yes I'm back.

You do know how much Sid Meier had to do with this game? From what I know he was more like a beta-tester than anything

They have totally overhauled a lot of things. They say this version is 1/3 old 1/3 improved and 1/3 new or something like that.

It seems ATI cards have a problem with this game. civfanatics at civfanatics are listing occurance after occurance i nthe forums. I have not yet seen anyone with a nVidia complain (yay for me then) but this is unnerving.

EDIT:Apparently not EVERY ATI card has this problem. Most of the very old cards (like a 7500) work fine. But alot of the 9550s, 9800, X300s, X800s, X850 (even XT PE)s seem to be a hit or miss affair. Most often miss.
I STILL haven't seen nVidia problems. Only someone with 256 ram and WinXP with a 5200 FX complain its a bit jerky.....no duh. 256 with Win Xp AND a 5200?

Some one called Take2 and they couldn't solve it. They gave them an early estimate of a patch: 3 - 4 weeks. The Team is probably on holiday.

There's too many changes made to this game to mention here, but a good place to start is here:

http://www.2kgames.com/civ4/home.htm

It's defently not "the same old"
