After v1.01.. sound cutting out 15-20mins into a Skirmish game still occurs so will try the SoundFix (rename files in \sound\music\standard\.. ).
Btw, anyone notice when AoE3 is closed down the Age3.exe is still running? Ugh!!! Slows the comp down as well. End-Task it and all is peachy. Bloody wierd.

Not need to rename, for me I'v solved it by just turning off the music in the game Options (not need to, turn off all sounds- justt MUSIC is enough)
The still runing thing occurs only if quit after sound off problem (if I'm not mistaken)

No I tried that back when the game was released. No dice. Turning MUSIC off did nothing. I think renaming those music files won't do it either. Bah! Bloody f**ing wierd. Maybe a codec prob that some mentioned 2-3 pages back. Will invesigate.. No biggie. Still modding Dawn of War: Winter Assault for the past, oh, 10months so this is just an aside.

So? People in this thread asked for cheats or used the Trainer.
One should think that everybody is smart enough to decide for himself if it is worth it to cheat or not. Some people simply don't have the time to invest shitloads of time into a game and still , they want to see the ending. So instead of saying 'Don't cheat' accept that cheats are there to be used by those who want to use em.

Does anyone know why I can't customize my home city and choose cards? I have the latest update and I'm running it using a mini-image.
in between missions even though I'm level 5, I can't choose any cards or customize the city. its all greyed out.

you cannot do anything to your homecity or buy upgrade cards till after a few levels, think your nearly comming up to that point, sure it was around level 6/7

Good game. The campaign was kinda short to me, but theres always skirmish mode. I give it 8 out of 10.

I'm almost through the campaign. Act III going to the fight at havana. I must say I've enjoyed this more than other AOE games that I've played. I don't know how much strategy is involved in it thoguh..grab a few cannons a giant mass of musketeers and charge... hope for the best really. Healers are barely effective, it would be nice if there was some kind of auto-use.
I find it really awesome that in 2005 when we have an army selected and attack the enemy, the healers don't know enough to keep formation and stay at the back. They charge right in.
It would also be nice if your soldiers would maintain ranks after killing someone. Its annoying when they get pulled more and more out of formation and don't try to come back. If you ignore htem for 10 seconds and go do something else you can have random soldiers getting slaughtered because an enemy just wandered in a certain area.
Maybe AOE4 will have "hold ground" commands... its not like other games use that.
