Hi,

Have some questions about the installation.

When i have installed the game and try to start it from the shortcut on my desktop, the first tim i get a question about "protect system?" (or something like that). I can answer Yes or No. Is this an isntallation of starforce or an uninstallation? A little bit confused. At first i was sure it was some kind of starfore installation, but after running SFclean.exe discovering that it just restarts the computer exactly like the question "protect system?" does i thought that it may be ultima that have added the sfclean to the installation. Am I right?

Hi! DIFference update the starforce driver sea my last post for the link and not install the game on a other drive as C:\ default manufacterer path and normaly all will work perfekt the protection error is due to an incompatibility with nero 6.6 codecs and they are solved with starforce driver update.

Yup it's the mobile port, think I'll demo it sometime to see if it's worth it.

This latest version of Colin McRae Rally is based on PlayStation One classic Colin McRae 2.0. It follows the release of Colin McRae Rally on the App Store last year, which became the number one rally game in many countries around the world, and calls from you guys to bring that classic Colin gameplay back to more platforms. That process started with a release on Android and Blackberry earlier this year, and today we launch on Steam!

This version features handling and physics inspired by Colin McRae Rally 2.0 and is upgraded with re-mastered audio and definitively fancier 1080p graphics. You’ll find yourself tackling 30 classic rally stages with a combined distance of over 130km in four legendary cars: the Ford Focus, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI, Lancia Stratos and the Subaru Impreza.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Colin McRae game without co-driver Nicky Grist at your side, and he’s on hand to read out the pace notes as you hurtle through the Australian outback, climb the mountains of Greece and barrel through the tight and twisty tarmac roads of Corsica.

Out now, you can enjoy all the retro thrills of the original Colin McRae games on today’s machines for less than the price of a couple of pints, and racing is particularly great when using the d-pad, as it would have been played on the PlayStation back in the day. It’s pretty cheap, pretty fun and it really captures that original experience.

We hope you enjoy it whether you were around for the first time and fancy a bit of nostalgic rally action or are curious to see where our DiRT games started out.

While it shares a lot with the mobile version we have done a lot of work on the handling and graphics to make it look/feel the best we can on PC/mac.

You can't tune up your car regardless of the fact that the game gives you info about the track like 70% tarmac, 30% gravel, etc. The car variety is not big at all. The game is way too easy. Otherwise its ok.

Weird, game looks like mobile port. All HUD and tracks appears to be same.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Yup, you can't customize your car, the good old repair screen is gone and there's like 4 cars to choose from
It really looks like the old game, maybe even felt a bit like it but its shit. I might just fire up the real CMR2 after this.

You guys are missing out a lot. This HD remake is a masterpiece.

The driving model has been refined and made more accessible, because the original was frankly too hardcore and frustrating. The new engine allows for more advanced effects, the HD overhaul is simply majestic imo. You can't alter your cars because they're already perfect.
Last but not least, Codemasters have included a fantastic cockpit view because they <3 fans:

At Codemasters, we care about our customers and pride ourselves on listening to our community.

We understand that some people who bought Colin McRae Rally on Steam are upset and feel that it isn’t the game they thought it would be. We have now updated the product description for clarification.

Furthermore, as an act of good faith, we have worked with Valve to enable anyone that bought the game to claim a refund. The ability to refund will be available until the 19th August.

To process a refund, please go to your account transactions page and you will see a “Refund” button for Colin McRae Rally. We hope this goes some way to restoring any lost faith and thank you as always, for your continued support.
