They still can apply CrossRegionTrading flag to other IDs, it affects only non-US and non-AU versions.
No one was screwed with South Park. People who activated the game were fine, and had no issues playing it. People who stoked up on cheap ru copies bought via the glitch of which they perfectly knew while trading for these copies- their own enemies and got what they deserved. They've been warned but didn't want to listen :P

The funniest thing it wasn't ru/br/ua traders. They don't usually stock up on things. It were Us traders who bought lost of copies with keys, haha. Poor bastards.

Anyway, W3 will be locked just like previous games so it is a not a surprise, we saw it coming.

Not that it really matter since there is 8 month until release :P

Witcher Adventure Game multiplayer closed beta live now.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

They were live yesterday? I received them day ago.

Welcome to the closed multiplayer beta of The Witcher: Adventure Game!

Congratulations on being one of the lucky few to check the game before its release - we are thrilled you will be joining us. Your beta access includes 2 keys, so you can share the experience with a friend.

The purpose of the beta is to test both the game as well as GOG Galaxy infrastructure powering the online portion of it. Over the course of the beta, we will be adding new cards, mechanics and improvements, to polish the game further and deliver you the best possible experience - stay with us and check for updates regularly. We really do count on your feedback - more on this below!

Also, while the beta is limited to online play only (Public games with matchmaking or Private games for playing with friends), rest assured that the full game will also feature a “hot seat” and “vs AI” modes. In other words yes, there will be single-player and you will be able to play it offline.

We know the beta is not restricted by any sort of NDA, but on behalf of CD PROJEKT RED we kindly ask you not to publish and/or stream any gameplay videos from it. As you know, the game is in a very early stage of development, and at this point it's not representative of the final, polished and feature-complete product quality they are striving to deliver. Thank you in advance! Smile

Is the "pre-order NOW for the special price of 45 instead of the normal 60!!!!" a CDPR thing? That's pretty fucking retarded. Yes, I just noticed it

An interesting read. CDPR's history and even some surprising background info on how the first Witcher came to be.

In a new interview, Level Designer on the game, Mile Tost clarified and explained the developer’s approach towards sex in upcoming RPG.

We make mature games, for mature players (every Witcher game is for adults only) and sex is, well, a part of adult life. The key thing is not to overdo it, not to sell your game with sex. As long as you remain tactful in what you do, as long as you have a legitimate reason to put sex in your game, I think it’s quite safe to do so.

In addition to talking about adult content in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Tost also confirmed that there are no plans at this moment to bring previous titles in the series to PlayStation platforms.

So, if you were hoping to get your hands on The Witcher or The Wither 2 on your PS3 or PS4, then unfortunately you will not be able to do so.

Tost also said that there is no need to play previous titles to understand fully what is going on the the latest entry, as it will “seem like a totally standalone game.”

Geralt

Geralt & Ciri

It's a pity all we have just one lame (sort of) tv series and 3 excellent games ;(

Dayum, maybe after The Witcher 3 the franchise earns such popularity that it will be made into a series of movies or even a high quality TV Show (HBO?), with Mads as the lead!

Don't see any real difference between this and Game of Thrones TBH - this would be more interesting, thats for sure.

Game of Thrones is a politics show with some fantasy added to the mix. Witcher has politics as well but it's much more actiony, more centered about fantasy (apparently) and just as mature. Both have in common being set in a medieval world as well. Both great in their own ways Smile

There is a lot of difference between this and GoT, imho.

First off, this is one character focused. The world, though low fantasy, still is a more fantastical world. There is politics in this game world, it can be ruthless, but it's far away from the straight-up evil, that is in GoT.

PLUS! You don't really have to worry about your main hero suddenly being offed, which is a huge plus.

Yeah, well, that bit about dying... not exactly true Wink I still have nightmares about some 70 or so pages from one of the books Razz Sapkowski doesn't aim to depress you, though, not as Martin seems to like to do. Bad shit happens, sure, and it's usually done by people, but you get a kind of a... certainty, that retribution/vengeance is coming, sooner or later. It's hard to describe it, but it's there. There's at least one character (maybe two) you'll be dying to see dead, just waiting for shit to finally go south for him Laughing But I don't think I ever had any doubt it would.

But the biggest difference, IMO, as Radicalus pointed out, is that The Witcher is centered around characters, with any political plot in the background. And it is actually a straight up fantasy world, just a little more gritty and with a firmer grip on reality.

One of the things I really like in the books, is that Geralt is an observer. You get to know the politics and background of the world through the dialogs the people he observes have, not necessarily how he sees it.

Geralt himself talks very little, stays objective, asks direct questions and lets the others voice their opinions without interfering.

The short story at Calanthe's court that introduces Pavetta is a great example of this.

Then dear Sir, you have the brain of a fly.

But maybe there is hope for you. Watch this movie.
