Larian improves/learns while PB just seems to /
One of the big problems i have with Larian games is the quest rewards/chest contents. in DK2 if you deliver a quest you get a random quest reward, but if it doesn't suit your taste you can infinitely reload a save before delivering to finally get something you want. Same goes for chests. Such exploits can be hard to ignore, especially when you're going through a drought with drops.
This persists in Original sin as well. Not sure about quests, but chests at least.
Larian managed to learn from their shitty divinity dragon knight saga and they made a very good game (divinity original sin). Here we are going to have another Risen 2 atrocity.. .
Tried to like Divinity 2: Ego Draconis ..unfortunately found it quite shitty. That year had Dragon Age Origins released which was much better game imo, maybe that's why.
Totally different games. I bought the German version of Divinity II because I couldn't wait for the English one. The game's set pieces blew me away but the game did end a lot sooner than I expected. Having said that, fuck me that game managed to impress me. That temple with the giant head made my eyes pop out which is a very rare thing to happen in any game these days. The scale of it and the aesthetics were just finger licking good!
<3 Ego Draconis, not so much Flames of Vengeance, but still.. the two combined were magnificent. Different games to Dragon Age, both have more than enough room in the market.
I don't know, I definitely played something way better than Dragay Age 2 or Two Random Generated boring Worlds II or Risen 2 or another truly mediocre crap that for some reason called RPG or action RPG.
The thing I can agree with is the animations - they were indeed quite shitty. But story, writing, characters? WTF? You definitely played a very, very different game and I don't think you'll find many here who will agree with you.

I loved DD and yes Dragon Knight Saga was pretty bleh, just very generic no where near the quality of DD imo. D:OS seems great from the little i've played.
I was skeptical, and still am because I don't trust the silly marketing machine at all, but that video has awakened some good ol' Gothic feels
The classic style/world/structure seem to be there, if they don't fuck up the combat system and implement various interesting quests like Madness mentioned, then it's gonna be a blast. (the last famous words..hope not )
Looks great! That gives me so many Gothic vibes! I like how they're not even trying to hide the fact that it's pretty much the same world. Them dragon snappers and scavengers!
You know, you could just reskin the existing male character. It is not like female one would need any additional animation work, she would look fine walking and acting like a men. Ubisoft isj ust full of shit, right?
Eh... mage gameplay doesn't look interesting, to be honest. It's like all the spells are versions of the same thing: simple blasting, just with different elements And those kung fu moves, what the hell...
Also... what happened with mana? Is this just for the presentation, or does casting spells cost nothing now? Sadly, that 12 minutes "back to the roots" footage got me much more interested than actual, unedited gameplay
I think they had godmode and unlimited mana for the demo. I mean i didn't see him lose any health in the other video while fighting a giant and failing on everything.. soo...
