I think I joined in 2006? 2004-2005ish I was lurking just reading. Empire at War came out and cracking was still a bit meh at the time so Daemon Tool and Alcohol 120% were competing in running mini images correctly and all of that jazz. Couldn't for the life of a sacred goat get the damn game working. Figured I'd finally join up say hi and you bastards got it working ^__^

You kind of look back and think about all the time you've spent here...things that's changed in the real world. Things that changed in technology, hell look at the release groups we went throug.

There was a post made by Animalmother about him being ESTATIC about getting 900KB/s for a demo that was released. We were JEALOUS! Now look at us, we get fucking cranky if we're only getting 1.5MB/s lol

I vaguely remember _sin_ making my very first signature here with the superman logo. Might be able to find it somewhere, but all the same, had it forever and you guys dubbed me the squirrel lol.

No clue when I joined, but judging for the choice of nick it would be around SOF1 era, if it were before it would be Tofke and afterwords it would be USE.MORPHINEUS (Was my SOF 2 clan).

Came here lurking for a while before registering how I got here... prolly because then the Dutch influence was even higher and I had a lot of Dutchies as friends.

Took till 2013 till I started posting on a regular basis. Where times I even forgot my username because I thought it was the other two. I experienced a lot of the olden days of the hump, seen quite a lot of iconic figures come and go, but that was me being the lurker.

The reason I finally registered was actually me thinking it was a bit creepy lurking without even being registered (had that on a few sites actually).

Nforce is something I grew up with and I still stop and think about that once in a while.

Edit: Seems I was wrong with the lurking before registering part. I remember now that you actually had to have an account before you got into the forum, and I had an account back then. I do wonder tho... did we have to register again after the DB error?
Would explain why I thought I was lurking without an account for a while (might have been the time I forgot my username tho )

isonews died

theisonews came later IIRC, though maybe not

Either way it was after one of those was gone. There was also isoleeted or some shit but it was a crap imitation of isonews.

I remember a tonne of people flocked to nforce, I made an account but was on both sites, then everyone on theisonews started being cocks so I stopped going there altogether

All I remember of isonews was being in a place where I knew fuck all about piracy. I wanted to know more and I wanted to download games the way everyone else was as I had no money, but being on a 56k modem it wasn't very easy. It was still cool to check up on releases and thoughts/opinions.

lol i still remember running a DC++ hub and downloading from IRC bots. Scanning tagged FTPs too.

Back in 2001 this site and isonews was the sites I used (in cojunction with gameover) to find releases. Back then I was a site-tech for a 3TB 100/100mbit ftp. I joined the forum a few months later though. I used to chat with duders here, but I think all that history was removed in 2004 or something.

Oh and I forgot to add. At first when isonews died, I went to nvnews. But it sooo very died, from being such a lively forum. I am still sad about it, had 5k posts there.

I think in college around 2002 I started to learn about piracy, and eventually stumbled upon this thing called an "nfo" file that always wanted to be opened by my system information viewer and I was like WHAT THE FUCK.

Found this site eventually and I was like NO WAY ALL THESE DOWNLOADS?!

Quickly learned that there were no downloads... Laughing But I still found use for the nfo files because they used to be updated all the time and having the release names and shit helped me out back then.

Eventually Kleptomaniac stepped out as a moderator and he said some nice things about me and I was invited to be a mod.

This place will always be "NFOrce" to me and I remember the old forums and everything. This is one of the few sites that I always visit daily ever since then.

Yep, still visit daily, but I don't post as regularly anymore.

I visit out of sheer nostalgia more than anything. Most people I used to communicate more on a regular basis with left a long time ago.

I think the first thing I pirated myself was Hitman (2000), previous to that I bought everything, but I didn't exactly buy much (maybe one game every few months)

Someone sent it to me on a drive and the crack didn't work so I had to get a working one, I got help from isonews, and in turn, Megagames.

There's some memory of being on mIRC a lot. I can't remember if it was for this site or isonews, but I was always bothering people for help on how to use the commands to pull games down. And slapping people around a bit with some large trout.

I think Hitman was one of the first I came across. When I first discovered piracy I was grabbing Myth and CLASS rips. I remember how awesome I thought i was because of the games I had on one disk. Rune, Project IGI, Hitman and I don't remember the 4th.

@Sto0z, I still refer to this place as NFOrce, the new nfohump name just never sat well with me but I guess it does go along with the goofiness this place has.

I've been visiting the glorious NFOrce since forever, even when I could barely understand the English language, because of all them useful infos and tips about Yarr releases that I couldn't find in all the 'conventional' forums. Razz

To be completely honest, the first time that I stumbled upon this site, it was because I was desperately looking for links and cracks. I have to say, I was disappointed when I realized that the only cracks available here were the non-warez-related ones. But then I soon discovered that an addiction was growing stronger and the l̶u̶r̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ stalking sessions went on for years until I eventually created this account.

So, NFO for the infos, and if I recall correctly, Dredwarez + some shady FTPs were the places where I used to grab my yarr material back then (mostly rips because my connection sucked as much as it does now, proportionally speaking xD)

Dayumn, nostalgia and good times Laughing

I as a mod at Churchi's scene news back in... 99? my nickname at the time was Slacker Laughing
hanging out on IRC we had sort of a group (the ones of seven Laughing) and from that came the idea for nforce after churchi went down, around may/2000. I wonder where are some of the people from those ancient times...

I'm pretty sure I have some logos and plans from that era in a backup somewhere Smile

Nfohump more for kids lol wut

Nfohump had a friendly atmosphere completely opposite to Isonews which had hostilities everywhere. And friendly doesn't mean "for kids"

I think i must have started about 2002 or 2003, not too sure. I know i lurked for a year or two before first registering, and the database error in 2004 sure doesn't help.

I don't know when I joined (2003? 2004?), but I think I've mistaken the nfo search (nforce.nl at that time I guess) for a place to actually get links to some downloader program Razz
First post in the forum took some time though. Actually I started to use this forum more at the time the tweakguides.com forum went down and I found out JBeckman was posting here.

Hmmm fun, used to use Isonews to know about releases, then arrived here for the NFOs, Gintor community changed names and closed the scene section and stayed a forum, then it closed down too. So i started lurking the forums here and bitching. Smile

Back in '05 my game dealer told me to look for upcoming games on a site called nforce, so I got here, and saw all these games and was like: Cool! How can I download them?? Laughing

As it turned out you couldn't! (So rude! But the midget porn in the VIP years later made up for that Very Happy)

I think I made an account back in '05, but forgot about it, then I lurked and registered in 06'. The rest is history Very Happy

I also first got here looking for warez around 2003-2004, then stayed mostly to keep up to date on releases. Then the forums proved indispensable, sharing tricks on engine tweaks shortly after a game release, when most of the rest of the internet either doesn't have the game yet or only talks gameplay.

Because of the chill, relatively troll free and grown up atmosphere around here I visit almost daily; the only other forum I frequent this much is the something awful forums, which is also internet cancer free but not as lenient towards piracy.

I guess another factor is the really international membership, we have users from all the continents here; German forums I stay away from as much as possible.

This forum also permeates into my real life; lots of movies and series I watch based on recommendations from here I also share with friends, so in parts the hump even made me grow intellectually.

Thanks guys! <3

I think it was around the time when the doom 3 alpha leaked. I was active on 3-4 forums at that time. doom3.dk, doom3maps.de and duke4.net (as yatta, the admin was a nice guy that previously posted on doom3.dk).

doom3.dk went down because the admin had no more time to moderate it properly and I think he wrote the forum system himself as it was full of holes. So one guy started to post with someone else' identity, I wrote some scripts which would color code shit, draw smilies and later on also you'd be able to post as someone else, then the databash had an error and the sql error showed the admins password .. so around that time it was isonews and nforce.

And everybody new that orange was a shitty place and blue simply ruled.

Lurked since... a long ago, 2004? (Was still NForce)

I think I came here to find info on the latest releases. I was a 'hardcore' pirate back then, these days... I don't even remember when I pirated something. (TV-Shows don't count Poker Face )
