just tried the game again and it works, i just re copied my vas patch in game dir, and loaded up game, i now get a server list and the first server i joined worked, auth took 4 secs tops.
i cannot pin down the problem to why it never worked for me initialy, i cant see what had changed, maybe i never did copy over vas patch initialy but though ti did, i have so many nocd and cracks for the game, i may have thought i had.
here is what i do know though
the vas patchis in use
i have no entry in host file.
my router has the port 28004 forwarded. { but i know its not needed , only if u want to run a server}
i did update pb though as per above post b4 i tried.
that may have been it.

i wish i had a answer , but i dont.
it happened to just work.

It takes ages for me to load a multiplayer game.. stupid authorization, any way to make it faster??

lol I cant believe this... you get a game for free, you get to play it online on legit servers for free (which is VERY rare), and you're complaining it takes too much time to get into the game??! geez...
