Fraghouse Invasion - Invasion mode with many more interesting maps. It's a coop mode, where you play against many waves of monsters that get stronger and bigger.
Satore Monster Pack - more monsters that can be used in combination with invasion and RPG mods.
RPG mod - mutator that adds roleplaying elements to UT2004. Im not sure this is the one I used to play as i have not played UT for over a year.

I love the new turn that FPS:s are taking, implementing RPG-elements and so on. It's much more rewarding to get cash from an enemy that you kill so you can later spend it on armor, weapons, ammo, upgrades, vehicles and so on rather than getting +1 frag. Boiling Point did it but the game itself didnt quite cut it. Hopefully Stalker will be as good as we all hope. |
So right. fps+rpg is the ultimate game type. Now don't call me a fan boy...but I would like to see a title from valve with these elements in-game: fps style CSS with the rpg concept of building your charcter. I would freak...

OK men! we got some serious news here about S.T.A.L.K.E.R., keep up the hope boyz!!
Source: Oblivion-Lost.com
Quote: | Some positive news... Those starved for information regarding development status of S.T.A.L.K.E.R., will be happy to know that FlamingPumpkin has recently visited GSC, and brought us a very interesting report:
Stalker is already not far from being finished. One can probably say that everything is done. All that is left is minor fixes, debugging, and ballancing. There is pre-rendered video. It looks worthy.
I played multiplayer. Even though it is still being ballanced, it looks very good. Multiplayer in STALKER cannot be compared to anything, due to the peculiarities of realistic graphics. Counter Strike experience turned out to be useless. One has to search for the enemy amidst foliage and shrubs, among ruins, and in cracks. Also, special abilities make the game more complex. For example, one can get into a good position by crouching low and leaning around a corner. But at first, it is difficult to hold 3-4 buttons at once. Clearly, the hour in which we will be able to enjoy this long awaited game is close upon us.
All that is left is to watch the news, and wait for the start of the advertising campaign, and announcement of the exact release date. |
so, i'm lookin forward to this title

I am just afraid that by the time game gets out, we will all have too high expectations, and the technology behind the game will look outdated as it was in fact planned for release a pretty long time ago already.. Seen it happen before.. oh well, lets see, im really looking forward to it!

i actually think its a bad thing for an rpg to come out with the latest technology...look at vampire bloodlines...full of bugs/glitches/plotholes....more time is needed with this type of game because of the open structure instead of say a fps where everything is highly linear. anyways i still have hopes for it to be great even if the gfx arent awe-inspiring anymore.

naw i have more faith in this than another duke game...
i think they most likely went back to the drawing boards... they saw the competition thats come out lately, and possibly realised that their game either didn't look nice enough or wasn't scary enough, to compete, so they are doing some redesign work?

They are not too far from completing the game now. They are just fine-polishing the AI and rebalancing some stuff. Believe me, the game does look really nice. It is still au-pair with games like FEAR and Quake4. I expect it to come out Q1 2006.

I hope its nothing like Fear or Quake4 cause that would be "did that done that" like 5 years ago.

graphical standard will be very fine. how many games have come out yet (shooters) that you really say have a fantastic gfx engine/ game engine? 5-6?
so when this game will be out it will blast us away, just cause we don't know this kind of open field shooter. thats my opinion.

I liked the rpg style gameplay of building your character in fps game. Will be cool and since this element is going to be used for online gaming I think the game will have durability.
