it has its moments...  sabretooth is ok... show is weird... better supporting characters than the main character

You can do way worse than RD, as far as tv goes. It's not up there with the classics, but as long as you don't treat it too seriously, you should have a pretty good time. I found most characters to be pretty interesting, though Ray himself is kinda the "silent, brooding" type, which may get a bit tiresome from time to time. When he gets worked up, he gets pretty intense, though, and his brothers and father are usually really, really good.
All in all, it's a good show. Not extremely good, mind you, but not mediocre "meh, I guess it's alright" action or procedural either. Just... good, plain and simple. That's how I would describe it.
