|
 |
So I noticed few days ago on my new 24" Dell a smudge. So I get a cloth to clean it...
But it doesn't come off. So I look at it a bit better, and notice a cluster of dead pixels, and a small hole in my monitor! -.-"
So it seems that the pixels exploded :\
Now I need to go and take it to repair service, that works Mon-Fri from 8-16.
They should seriously have a better work hours, now I need to go before my work, be late for work, and I don't know when I'll be able to pick it up. I just hope they'll approve my warranty :\ Since I think 4 pixels are dead (Dell has like 5 dead pixel tolerance).
Oh and I borrowed old 19" lcd from a friend, that'll be fun to work on xD

Everything can explode, if you have ever watched Family Guy or the Simpsons you would know that.

It's like a really small hole, you can feel it underneath your fingers. When the monitor is on it's classic dead pixel stuff

yeah I started to suspect as much, that would've been a little too extreme
its surprising Dell has such a high tolerance for dead pixels (for a premium company) but if you can even feel it they're gonna have to replace or repair it be glad you got at least a 19'', my temporary replacement monitor a few weeks ago was some tiny 15'' thingy with 1280x1024 resolution |
it's not so much the size that sucks, it's the ratio. Everything is so cramped. Oh and the colors, god the colors are awful :S
and I have 2 websites that needs finishing :\ I hope it won't take them too long to give me new one or replace the panel (if they are going to do that)...

Had a stuck pixel on my psp for a few months, then it fixed itself for a couple of years, then stuck again.

many pixel errors are usually stuck pixels, truly dead pixels stay dead for good
a dead pixel is white on a TN panel and black on IPS and *VA panels.

Yup it was 4 black ones plus the hole in mine :\
They said it will take from 3 days to 1 month of waiting...

Nope, 100% safe, son...
It cycles colours until the pixel is able to change the colour normally.

Yeah if you just got it you should return it / RMA it asap but without a spare monitor to use in the meantime it could be a bit problematic.

I had that one until it died, but in like 5 years I had it it never had one dead pixel.
Dell is nice, but this is just not right. But the repair (or rather getting a new one) took 2 fucking weeks I need it to work on, and the replacement is old 19" lcd with 4:3 ratio :\
