What's also worth complimenting is the exemplary support Larian is providing for the game. Patches are coming one after the other, even though these guys just barely finished working on one giant of a game. It just shows how much quality means to them. Glad to see them finally enjoying unquestionable success and acclaim, not just in gamers eyes, but mainstream gaming media too, because they sure as hell deserve it.

Lol, just fighting the final fight. I'm level 22, with my main tank/damage chars at around 150% or more elemental resistances ( so it actually HEALS them when they get hit) and the boss being level 20 I'm getting kinda bored massacrating

really wtf, i reset all my points, did remove lone wolf (hp dropped from 2400 to 900) so i can take 2 extra characters in party, but in that hall where you can recruit characters, that guy who is selling them says that i must remove some characters from my party, but who to remove when i have just two characters from beginning, and did not hire anyone from start.

You lost your credibility when you awarded watch dogs the same score as this. Clearly, objective reviews seem to be the least of your concern.

I don't care who wrote it. Don't you guys work in unison? At least one of you should've disagreed to let that score pass. But, i'll try again, you probably got monies from Ubi$hit to give their subpar game a 80+, it has happened before.

P

No, it hasn't happened before. You believe that it has because it is simpler to endorse a conspiracy theory than accept that somebody disagrees with your opinion; the issue is with you. I'd remind you that we've got rules about baseless attacks on our writers: So this is a warning: lose the attitude or get a ban.

It's fun to know the personalities behind a website, but you don't have to take things personally. It's well known that major reviewers and websites overscore big publishers and series no matter what. It's a big event, it can't be mediocre! Look at how everybody is excited!

Love it, PC Gamer being all high and mighty with the defensive ban hammer Laughing

I'm not going to comment on those scores, because the more I read and watch game reviews in recent years, it almost seems like the reviewer's first exposure to anything related to gaming was on a Playstation 2.

What I want to comment on is the talk of it having an insanely steep learning curve, or it not being user-friendly. Am I, or perhaps we, we being anyone else that was able to get on with the game just fine, just a good deal smarter than everyone else? Never once was there a moment of this game being difficult to control or follow. Everything as far as character control, item handling, etc, was pretty self explanatory. You want to combine 2 items? Drag one on top of the other while holding shift. Is that difficult?

Then for Polygon to say a lack of talent is what created this "mediocre" game. So, creating a non-linear, smart (elements interact as they should), decently-sized world full of detail, turn-based game requiring some thought when in battle, is what is categorized as a lack of talent? A company that has been supporting the game like its own child since release, and not releasing it to the masses in need of patching, but rather than patching it, moving on to the next slap in the customer's face in the pipeline. This is what is considered a company with no talent? Hahahaha, okay.

Much like television, the lowest common denominator wins. Content is made for them. Smart entertainment is a thing of the past. Honey Boo Boo and the "Awesome" button in video games wins the day.

Now where the hell is my TARDIS to get me off of this planet? This is sad.

This is why I'm actually glad there were some decent kickstarters which showed the "mainstream" that we want these types of games and not just "pew pew I kiel u wit mah ganz!" type of bullshit that they spit out on a yearly basis.

I haven't played the game yet since I'm waiting for a friend to get it so we can play it in co-op but the beta build I played a couple months ago was great and I can't imagine that it went downhill from there.

It just seems as if a game isn't "ohh look, shiny!" then it's not worth the praise from these reviewers. Basically, I stopped treating them as valid input a whole heap of years ago because generic games like CoD were getting praised while gems like The Witcher or Silent Storm (yes, I know SS is a bit older than CoD4 but still) were too boring or difficult for them.
