I've noticed a lot of "out of order" stuff in this and, if you ask me, it's simultaneously the game's best selling point and largest failing. Being able to do any quest, and any area, at any time means you can - and in a lot of our cases - inevitably break a lot of quests. The vast majority of bug reports I've seen on Larian/Steam forums are from people complaining about Glitch A because of doing Quest C before Quest B.

It's a shame too Sad

Is there any use of staff other that use special skill (which is terrible)?

Early to mid Cyseal should be pretty thoroughly tested but the later areas such as the church or black cove were added near the end of the public beta phase if I remember correctly.

The other maps were all done in-house by Larian and they did a pretty good job but there's a number of ways you can break a quest and become stuck but with so many possible variations it would probably have needed a month or two of dedicated Q&A testing and crunching or what it's called. Smile

I'm glad they are fixing it quickly but without being able to resurrect NPC I don't think they can retroactively fix all of these progress blockers for people whom are affected by them.
(Main quest lines primarily, for side quests having the quest update and close if a important NPC dies should be acceptable if there's no alternate solutions.)

You get the Kickstarter bonus perks basically.

In-game that's the Zandalor trunks and Golden grail (The trunks give comments on situations as long as you wear them and the grail gilds your armor for extra value.) and it also adds the soundtrack, design documents and artbook to the install folder. Smile

Thanks. Is the Golden Grail worth it?

I think it's a pretty useful item early on to earn more money on selling armor but otherwise it's pretty minor though it's always available and never runs out so you can quickly gain a few more gold pieces worth out of it for selling. Smile

It also colors them yellowish as if you had dyed the armor but dyes are pretty rare (I've seen ten or so in total during all this time.) and of course using a actual anvil to work out metal armor will help with the actual stats though you lose the current color of it, meaning it becomes white.
(Metal armor primarily benefits by having their speed penalty lowered and then removed and finally improved to become beneficial as your blacksmithing skill increases.)

(And with some certain items and a bit of crafting skill you can also enhance armors by adding charms and other stuff on it whereas the grail works similar to pearls and only improves it's value in gold which is useful but won't really aid you on armor you actually wear.)

i don't really consider it "breaking a quest", if you do something that kills the quest giver.

I.e. Lawrence, you can get him killed through progress, before doing his mission. Obviously you can't finish it afterwards. But that's hardly "breaking it", but simple logic imho.

That's mostly how I see it as well but the quest should close then and maybe even be updated with info on that the quest giver or similar died.

The real blockers are for the main story quests where you get stuck in a location because you missed some item or you break a sequence so badly the game won't progress further or otherwise gets you into a unresolvable situation.
(Such as being stuck with rot permanently because you explored and took a different passage and thus got the quest item too early.)

For Cyseal the game does a OK job of correcting itself or moving forward if you do certain things out of order although major screw ups like being able to access the main boss despite the item for that normally being part of a separate quest can still mess the game up.
(It is possible that moving to the next map could perhaps bypass that quest but it will not always work.)

EDIT: Still making use of quicksaving (Which I'm personally rather bad at.) will normally save you from starting over or losing hours of progress, auto saving works too but happens less frequently, doing separate manual saves is also recommended but these are basic advice for nearly all open world RPG's by now. (Play it safe and save often, going back to Infinity Engine games from Black Isle or stuff by Troika to name two things, even older stuff too of course like Might and Magic,Wizardry and Ultima in the mid 80's I believe.)

Who, Larian? They're not Smile They're talking about implementing a revocation system for the backers who gave out beta keys to friends, so they can get their full copies back, but Larian themselves aren't going to revoke the games like they originally planned to.

I can see both sides, sadly, and while you're absolutely right that there will be some unscrupulous fucking scum revoking keys they've sold to others .. there are some innocents that gave out their "beta" keys on the info from Larian that they'll be revoked at launch and replaced with full retail keys. Barash on here, for instance, gave away his two "beta" keys and later found out that they were actually his full copies and has been left with nothing.

Sucks in both scenarios, if you ask me Sad

Pretty much, yeah, I think he's waiting on the revoke feature. It's a crappy situation for some people .. it means they either swallow the loss, hope Larian take pity and issue a new key, or revoke the ones they gave to friends in order to play it themselves. YAY.

Switching my profile-key with one from the list with a Hex-edit unfortunately doesn't spawn the bottle in a game already started, so that was a bust sadly Sad

Tell me about it. Was about 80-90% into the game Might&Magic 9. Then bugged the mainstory and couldnt finish the game. That sucked so hard Mad Now I save a lot ingame.

About Divinity, the game is missing some big dungeons. Only in the last map you find some dungeons to play with but for the first 80% of the game there is a lack of.

Barash revoked the keys on the 3rd of this month, a week ago.

Edit: Obviously I don't mind that it's still on my account, just that after a week what's the point of removing the game, people that would have bought it have most likely finished it.
