Have the best blast since 9000 years ago.

I just had an orgasm playing an FPS that isn't slow as fuck and doesn't treat my mouse as a crappy analog.

I played SOF1 first on Dreamcast, then 2 years later on my first PC..good old Dreamcast, had so many PC ports.
It was a good port, full gore&gibs except it wasn't possible to shoot off only half of the head, it always was a full decapitation

There's a community version that works flawlessly on win7 64bit and supports 1080p and honestly it still looks good to me if you don't take the low poly models into account it's a really great fun shooter.

Shame they don't make them like these anymore, even the "retro" tries from modern developers just drop flat on their faces.

I couldn't find any game to play these days since it's a dry shitty year so I was like, fuck it, let's go back to when we were truly having fun with video games.

I don't remember playing SOF I but I had tons of fun with SOF II. But mostly because I replayed the airport level. The other ones (especially Cambodia) sucked ass.

Online play was where it's at with land mines.

Another old fps I really love is the original red faction....that geo mod tech was insane for it's time

Good old times, Soldier Of Fortune was so insane when it came out, nothing was like that back then (so damn brutal Very Happy). Soldier Of Fortune II had also insanely good graphics back then, also the gore was absolutely insane (im still waiting proper Soldier Of Fortune sequel with next-gen gore, but i cant get that ever).

I can confirm that the community version really works well (I think the 5.1 is the most recent one), managed to re-finish it without issues only 6-7 months ago. Mouse controls need some tweaking at first, but after that it's a glorious old school ride. So Much Win

No stupid cutscenes, hand-holding, unforgiving as hell, just explore the levels and dismember anything that moves. They don't make 'em like this anymore...damned military pews have ruined everything.

I remember when my PC used to be in the dining room when I had SOF.

Alt and tab got a good workout.

Why isn't this on Steam anyway?

I don't think it's on sale anywhere, the only way to get it is through piracy.

Yeah, I installed the GOG version some weeks ago. Just playing the glasshouse extra map was just as cool as I remembered Smile 2nd one was sort of a letdown, but I like the new guerrilla games Smile
