I've been buying these for years and this is the third one that is packing it in. The scroll wheel is stuffed.
Is there a successor that feels the same or do I have to hunt down another G9x?
Thanks

Supposedly the G90 is the direct successor of the G9x. I wouldn't know how good they are though, I'm still rocking my 518 and will switch to G400 when this finally packs in.

Used them for a while but the scroll wheel does get a bit weird eventually, seems they're discontinued or something from what I read on the Logitech forums some year ago but there's still plenty of shops that have them in stock.
Didn't know they had a successor either, interesting.

After all my 70€-90€+ mice broke after short periods I said fuck it and went back to the "500/518" G400 too. Fuck em! These at least have never let me down and were sturdy as fuck.

Odd timing with this thread.
My MX518 gave out a long time ago (best mouse ever, bar none - scroll wheel click stopped working). I then switched to the G9x (honestly, I hated it compared to the 518, the shape was shit, as was the positioning of the sensitivity toggle). Next up was the G400 (the spiritual successor to the MX-518). That one gave out a few days ago, and my G400s just arrived a few hours ago. Loving it, but the scroll wheel has a bit too much resistance IMO compared to the old G400.
Boy, what I'd give to have a fresh, new in box 518 at my disposal - best mouse ever. Wish I had the technical know-how on how to fix my old one rather than having ditched it. I miss that fucking mouse!
I've pretty much stuck to Logitech exclusively for the past decade when its come to keyboard/mice. Razer just seems like it makes overpriced, cheap, breakable shit. Not to mention all of their mice have a weirdly unnatural contour/shape.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

It's working without any software so far |
You can specify DPI changes with macros (among other things) using the Synapse driver software. There is an online cloud mode that allows you to keep your settings wherever you are, but you can leave it offline if you choose.

Be warned: a lot of their Deathadder mice have problems with the middle mouse button which stops working. I use one at work and one at home - the one at work isn't broken yet because I rarely have to use it, but the one at home only lasted three months.
