For now mods require new games, you can not mod the campaign directly because it's locked down (Currently at least.) so you have to make a new campaign and from there mod the existing content. (The editor is also really more of a level creator though it has many other features so you can use it nearly as a SDK.)

EDIT: Thus the mods menu, you select the content and it creates a new game for that particular content or how to best describe. Smile

Once the tools are updated a bit this might be improved.
(Having the means to at least export your characters would be nice, keeping quest progression and such would be awesome but trickier.)

Laying down on a bed restores health. Then there is just eating and spells I guess. 12h in and I'm still exploring the first town. Just got points in pick pocketing so I did a new round Laughing Next I'm heading out of town.

I'd recommend creating a new profile for testing mods before creating a new game and losing progress.

This game is awesomeness, distilled to its purest form. I can't believe Larian did what they primised, and more (I didn't keep track of all the news). There's so much detail in this game, it's just amazing. Almost everything fits perfectly. There are some tiny things that can be irritating, but this is the best Larian game, and one of the best RPGs, I have ever started playing (I didn't do that much yet). You know what I feel while playing this game? Larian's love for gamedesigning. This game has that vague thing we call "soul". Unless the game turns to shit later, I can see this becoming my GOTY for 2014.

So much text Me Gusta

This is also one of the few RPGs I'm not reading anything about. Discovering things on my own is awesome since I love the detail.

You can fully customize those starting characters, you know.

Including what spells they start with?

Any opinions on the AI personalities?
(still at char creation Surprised)
Currently there is only Loyal and Random.
Loyal seems pretty boring if your partner just always agress to what you chose in dialogs. Random sounds much more fun, but could it become annoying too after a while?
I don't know men Crying or Very sad

WAIT. I know I can choose my CLASS at the beginning, but can I choose what skills they use from the beginning as well?

Sorry, just need to know before I keep going with my current char.

Also, the respec mod......Does it allow for skill respecs?

I understand that class determines certain skills, but was wondering if there was a way to CHOOSE from a list of starter skills per class.

Thanks!

yep you can, if you have knowledge in different skill sets you can swap some of them, just click little scroll arrow next to the skill on the right side of the character creation screen. As for the respec I wouldnt count on respec mod working in singleplayer campaign, maybe later there is a in-game respec from an npc, item or quest.
