B&W2 was sooo shallow. It just faked to have some depth.

Peter Molleneux is the king of overhyping his own games. B&W2 was like a movie without a script. Yes, you got the content, the actors, and of course the cheating AI, but where is the story, what moves the game forward? Nothing.
Anyway, back on topic. I think that X3 might look great without cockpits, less shit obstructing your screen, in my opinion. Plus, if you think about it, there were around 60-70 ships in X2 and you had only like 5-6 different cockpits for them. That made a lot of the cockpit not fit the ships they were on, which in turn looked pretty ugly. I'm positive to see X3 without cockpits.
Oh, and I guess if the game is not listed here at nforce within the next couple of days or so, it means that it has indeed Starforce.

I wonder if this game will be as unoptimized as X2? They should have named that one X2: The Slideshow Threat.

It ran fine on my computer. In fact, anybody who is running a game like a slideshow on their computer should either upgrade or put their graphics detail down.

Maybe you should just upgrade your computer then. It ran flawlessly on my computer.

I can run Quake 4 just fine so it had nothing to do with graphics detail. The problem was the badly written AI which took way, waaaay to much processing power (I'm guessing you never did one of the "Xenon invasion" missions..?).

I finished the entire game, took me many times the amount I would spend on any normal game. If you can run Quake4 fine then you should have no problem running X2.

The guy already said that he was running it on minimum settings, look at the Boron ship screenshots, there are no pixel shading or even specular highlights, also the textures are on low.
Thats why its ugly on those particular screenshots.
And the last screen that another dude said it was ugly in, thats because that was taken in a lower res without AA.
You can see every reflection and bumpmapping on the station and the ship, not to mention reflecting the planet above, the thing making it "ugly" it the jaggyness, not many screenshots are taken with AA, which is a shame, then you get discussions like this.

Thats how the game looks
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 RAM: 4gb Kingmax DDR2 800mhz Video: Asus GeForce 250GTS 1gb Sound: Asus Xonar.

I take it the game comes with a standalone editor?

Some people need to know how to enable FSAA.. the screenshots look ok but with FSAA they would look ten times better.
