So I've been looking at this puppy, I'd be able to get it for 240 dollars from Massdrop, but I'm not sure if my soundcard would be able to properly amplify it. Currently I have a ASUS Xonar Essence STX which claims to be able to support up to 600 Ohm headphones, but I've read some reviews that the Sennheiser HD600 is a far better purchase than this one. Was wondering if anyone could give me their viewpoints on either of the cans if they've tried them, thanks!

Here's the massdrop link by the way: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/beyerdynamic-dt880-premium

They are very different type of headphones. DT880 is probably much more 'bassier' than quite neutral (and bit dark) HD600:s.

Head-Fi is the best place to read people's experiences about them.

My suggestion is that you test them both and then decide which one is better in your opinion.

That's what I'm wondering, my Essence STX claims to be able to run anything up to 600 Ohm fine on paper.
