I have never used it before...now i need to.
i have WinXP pro SP2 .
how do i get the latest version of messenger and how do i create an account for it??


My System:
CPU : AMD "Barton" 2500+.
Memory : 768MB DDR PC2100.
GFX : Nvidia 6600GT DDR3 128MB , AGPx8
M\B: Gigabyte GA-7VT600P-RZ MotherBoard
Sound: AC97 Realteck 5.1 ALC655 - Audio.

messenger.msn.com

and you need a hotmail account for it i believe.

windows messenger isnt the same as msn messenger. you can get the new windows messenger from microsoft.com. MSN messenger is better though and u need a .net passport from www.passport.net

hmmm....good question
the guy that wants me to have messenger said MSN...so its the second one i presume right???

and where do i get it from??

No No No No Nooo.. you dont need a hotmail account. Just create a Passport - http://www.passport.com this way you can use any e-mail address you like Smile!

Unless you're a 13-year-old girl who likes shaking windows, animated smileys, entire paragraphs of sk8ter gurll lyrics in your username and other assorted crap, Windows Messenger is sufficient.

There's also GAIM, of course, but its sorta-native look may be enough for you to uninstall it.

is there any client out there that have both icq and msn support???

Its kinda makes me nervous to manuever between msn and icq in the same time Crying or Very sad

GAIM does as does Miranda and Trillian (yuck). There are also several multi-network clients for OSX and Linux.

and the most important...does it supports SMS sending? (as in icq)?
