For the REDUX edition, Metro 2033 has been completely overhauled:

Those who favoured the more survival horror oriented gameplay of Metro 2033 can play both campaigns in the 'Survival' Play Style, a fraught slow-burn fight for survival with limited resources, deadlier enemy AI, and slower reload speeds. Those who enjoyed the more action oriented gameplay of Metro: Last Light can try the 'Spartan' Play Style, providing Artyom with a powerful set of combat skills and more plentiful resources.
In addition, the legendary Ranger Mode returns to both games, providing the most immersive and challenging experience as the HUD is stripped away and hardcore rules apply.

Other than the graphics, it's worth replaying 2033 just for the new AI/Stealth/Collision detection. I tried to play the original stealthily at the time but it was fucking impossible, the AI was completely random, spotting you from miles away, even from other rooms with no line of sight. Same goes for enemy patterns, often very erratic.
I barely played 2033 so Im really looking forward to it. Completed Last Light on PS3 and that was a great game too!
Then you will be amazed , when you play it again on your brand new console , i played it on PC in dx 11 mode with tessellation ... it was so unreal even Crysis could not beat it
but then again those devs did the UNREAL thing to push the engine so much it looks nearly the same as the PC version ... damn
