http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/06/17/rainbow-six-patriots-canceled/
| Quote: | First up, Patriots. Here’s what technical artist Oliver Couture had to say about its cancellation:
“To be completely transparent, I worked on Patriots – on Rainbow Six for three-and-a-half years – and Patriots was old-gen. Xbox 360 and PS3. Next-gen consoles were just around the corner, and we were like, ‘OK, we want to also have a next-gen experience. What can we do for that?’ We were trying stuff out with destruction technology, and we realized destruction really changes the game. We tried to see how it could fit with old-gen, but it just didn’t work out. So for us it was just a better solution to clean the slate, reset, and make what’s best for the players.”
“We’ve been working hard for the past year-and-a-half [on Siege].”
Patriots was in the works for quite some time, though, and it’s hard to imagine all of that work going to waste. I asked Couture if any of Patriots’ cinematic bells and whistles will end up in Siege’s single-player mode, but as of now that’s undecided. Single-player is in the works, but it’s barely gotten off the ground floor.
“We know that single-player is also an important part of the Rainbow Six experience. We understand that while this year we showed multiplayer – because we want to have fun playing against each other internally, it’s a good test to know if a game is fun – but we are 100 percent aware that single-player is a big part. We’re currently working on that too.”
“The scope of the single-player is not completely clear yet, so I cannot really elaborate on it. All I know is that the message we have on the production floor is like, ‘All the comments online, people are always talking about single-player. So we’re gonna have something for them.’ But I can’t say if it will be more cinematic [like Patriots was] yet.” |

| Quote: | PCG: As a PC player I'm curious if I'll be able to mod Siege; it seems like it would be a great fit for people to make their own maps and scenarios and things like that. Is this something you have talked about?
Witts: We haven't really gone too much into detail on custom or user-generated content. Again, we are pre-alpha, right, so we want to make sure that we are iterating on the gameplay first. We don't want to get too ambitious too early or go in all these different directions. We're here pretty much just showing off the base gameplay and if the community really opens up and they really want the series to go in any certain direction, we are going to listen to them. This is a very iterative game. We've gone through iterations of the game. That's why we're [at E3] with our pre-alpha build showing exactly how far we've come and what we have. We think it's really special. We are going to keep our ear to the ground and make sure we listen to the community and what they want, especially the fans. It's been a while. We've heard a lot of things and so being back, we're making sure we are going to listen to the community and what they want. |
TL;DR blabla, excuse, blabla, #wecare#welisten, blabla nope ( but of course, it would be a foolish thing to do when you can earn four times more by releasing monthly map packs)

The anger was based on the stage demo alone. That one map. The developers chose a woman as the hostage for that specific scenario. According to feminists the hostage should have been a man, apparently.

Transgender hostage DLC.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

I'm offended, the first video features a distressed looking female being escorted by a WHITE MALE holding a gun which clearly represents a penis.

All this controversy is bloody ridiculous. Reminds me of the "preview" in PC Gamer by Cara Ellison:
http://www.pcgamer.com/previews/hotline-miami-2-wrong-number/
| Quote: | | Finishing up the tutorial, I’m certain that I’m playing more of the game I like – no – love. I’ve wiped the place of guys, watched them crawl around hopelessly in their own guts. I get to the final room. There’s a girl that it seems germane to hit like the other dudes. ‘FINISH HER’, the game says: I feel conflicted, but it’ll be over soon. I stroll up to finish the job. Instead, the control is taken from me by the game, and my character, the Pig Butcher, pins her down and drops his trousers. |
She's okay with killing guys in the game but hitting a girl.... The level is a scene being shot for a movie by a director
1 and 2 are still amazing.

I'm always amused by men who say "I would never hit a woman". Really? So if some crazy bitch tried to kill or injure you, you'd stand there and allow her to inflict bodily harm upon you, because she has ovaries?
Of course everyone wants to be a white knight. |
I'd just leave the kitchen and she wouldn't be able to follow me. |
IF you're a true man and have kept her chain short enough!
