Belgium Everything Went Better Than Expected

Second half was much better and there were glimpses of what could be an amazing team. There's just a little too much tunnel vision going on. Right flank was open so much and it just went unused entirely.

Aye, it's actually a recurring problem. Either our left or our right is open a half time and they get overlooked completely. 1st half it was mostly the left side.

It was a good match IMO Wink

A solid Mexico tactically speaking, even though they depended on their goalie (Memo Ochoa) in the last 20 minutes. Brazil was very inconsistent, they need to improve managing their "rythm" during a match, so to speak.

Too bad he's already 28, but if he's keeping consistent he could make a late-game career. Considering 28 is pretty young for a goalie in some parts of the world.

Managed to watch some Brasssiiiul, rather unimpressive to be honest. Razz

Ochoa did 3-4 fantastic saves, but in general the selecao didn't look too threatening. A competent #9 is missing, 'cause Fred, Jo and Hulk are all average.

edit:
Just seen Belgium's highlights too, can't believe that Fellaini saved the match Surprised BTW, Mertens is awesome, I don't get why both Belgium and Napoli keep him in the bench most of the times.

It was a entertaining match, even with the 0 - 0.

The Mexican goalkeeper was the best player there. What an amazing Ochoa! If he continues to play so and Mexico manage to go further, maybe he will be goalkeeper of the cup.

AND for tomorrow... I have deep hopes that we manage to send Spain back home !!! that would be amazing.

It's highly unlikely to happen anyway Razz If we loose against Spain, we have little chances to go any further, as Holland seems unstoppable.

Yeah did not expect this line-up at all. I dreaded every minute Vertonghen was a wingback. Slowed the whole flank down and mostly gave the ball to the center center... bot forward but backwards! BAH!

Yeah wasn't much room for him in the first half. 10 Algerians were defending at their backline. Their only forward was most of the time on their own half + Romelu had no support from the wingers. Don't think any targetman could do much in that situation. Sad

At least my captain (Kompany) did well for my team Laughing
135 points in total not too shabby I guess.

Russia - South Korea has to be the worst game so far. Even Iran - Nigeria was more interesting...

I expected more from these two, but man... this is quite a messy match. Think Iran-Nigeria and Belgium-Algeria was more boring tho. If I wasn't Belgian I would have turned that one off as well Laughing
