Two games about scenarios where shit has completely clogged the fan and they have as much to do with actual SWAT police work as Lemmings has to do with Formula 1 racing.
One game involves cops versus inept criminals where it all turns into WW3 (Hardline), while the other (Siege) pits soldiers versus terrorists in CQB. You can see why Siege is the more believable premise of the two. It doesn't try to be police versus robbers.
Still..
Next time everyone bring c4 and a ballistic shield. Seems to be the two most important tools in Siege.
"Should have... brought 4 shields... "

trailer looks good to me although there is something wrong with the atmospher imo and i can't put my finger on it, but i liked the gameplay and i guess the game will be better when it will be out, so bottom Line for me = can't wait
They gave their Siege video the same treatment as their The Division video with the stupid ass mock-up voice chatter from "players" on voip. You can wonder why they couldn't just record an actual testing session: simply because the game doesn't look or play like their video.
4 hour dudebro campaign with revolutionary "breach and execute" one button system.
why cant we have another true rainbow six game a la rogue spear, where you plan your mission for 30 minutes and then perfectly execute it in only 10.
or how about another swat game?

Because it will sell 100k copies instead of a million
And this is why they should add mod-tools for games like this.
You sell it to a million people who want actio-packed games then you have a small percentage of people who will mod it into something that will actually make it feel more tactical where they can plan ahead etc.
But I can only dream.
Was watching that scripted gameplay video only now. And the acting aside, it looks like it could be much fun! Animations look pretty good too
But what bothers me is that shit popup of the remaining players every time. Just hide that and bar at the top too, showing how many enemies still live.

"Based on the little I've seen and played, Rainbow Six: Siege may not think outside the box, but it has a keen awareness of what it is. It's not Battlefield, it's not Call of Duty, it's not Titanfall and it's not Killzone. Instead, it's Counter-Strike by way of Panic Room with a healthy dose of Minecraft's fortifying and destruction tossed into the mix. None of its individual components are unique, but they're elegantly arranged into a unified vision.
In an age where every triple-A game is trying to be every other triple-A game, Rainbow Six: Siege stands apart as a fine re-enactment of the most climactic four minutes of your favourite heist film." - Eurogamer
Ehhh...
so:
* None of its individual components are unique.
* It's Counter-strike.

Agreed! Can be fun with a group of friends.
I hope to see non-scripted gameplay soon.
