When i describe oculus rift and concept of virtual reality. Rarely someone gets it. Mostly they look at me like an idiot Sad

Most of the people 'out there' don't care about gaming (sadly), let alone virtual reality Razz. Some may say "oh cool", but that's pretty much where their interest stops. There's no point in trying to pull a jehovah on them, it would be a waste of time xD

Well, my prescription is a seriously malfunctioning social antenna. These guys are making fun of you, and probably because you talk too much about games. When someone says you're at work and not in a virtual world then that means that they don't care at all about what you're talking about and should get back to work instead of bothering them. Same most surely goes for the girls although they're a bit nicer about it.

I think you overestimate how many people are interested in tech in general, let alone the potential of some experimental future technology. A lot of people have no interest in computers at all, others use their phone only to place calls (sounds crazy, I know Very Happy) or check the weather if they are feeling adventurous enough. Even those who use them iPads and iPhones (or other similar devices) only use them for all the "fancy" stuff they allow to do - facebook/twitter/instagram/whatever and have no particular interest in the device itself or how good it is (other than perhaps what kind of social status it projects).

People like that will have no interest in VR at all no matter how amazed you are about it. You might as well be talking about how fascinating it is to watch the paint dry. At least for the "social" crowd the interest will appear when someone finally makes it popular or "hip".
But by then you will just look like that annoying "I used it before it was cool!" creep Razz
