|
 |
Hey guys, am searching for a tablet for my parents. As they are both 60+ they don't need the newest hardware, but rather something that is cheap but good enough to run a new android (4.3 or newer preferably). The resolution doesn't need to be high either, but no tn panels.
Another requirement would be, that it can also hold a sim card to make phonecalls and go online from anywhere, so that my father can use it also when he is on the road as navigation device...
I guess the price limit would be something like 200€ :/ Cheaper is welcome
TL;DR:
Need tablet
7"+
Android 4.3+
No TN Panel, resolution unimportant
Phonecalls
<200€

Galaxy Tab 2 and 3 are pretty cheap, and available in 7, 8 and 10.1 inches if I recall correctly

Don't get a Galaxy Tab.
My dad's got the Tab 2, cousin's got the Tab 3 and they're both not worth more than 100 EUR with all the crap Samsung have put on there. They are so unbelievably slow, to the point where it'll be annoying even for your parents.
See if you can pick up a Nexus 7 2012? Some shops still sell old stock of those. Should be around 150 EUR for the 16 GB 3G version.

It`s not like you can`t debloat a stock-rom and make it good for everyday-use.Specially if it is for people that just aren`t after maximum performance

Now, I don't know what hardware costs in Poland, I guess it's cheaper because everything is stolen from Germany and resold... |

You might wanna check out Ainol Novo tablets, they are very affordable. They are chinese, but pretty good (have tested out their Spark model with 9,7" retina screen and it was very good compared to shit plastic Samsung bloatware tablets).
