as most of you know, i work every weekend, sometimes 1, sometimes both nights. And i enjoy that. But during the week, i usually don't really do much (except the occasional pc fixing).
but now, since 2 weeks, i'm working as a "lock smith/metal worker/mechanic". Every day from 7h45 until 16h30 (8.5 hours something) and ... i kinda like it. I come home, take a shower and then i play some and somehow i enjoy playing a LOT more. Also yesterday, i came home (17h-ish) and then went to work again (21h30-ish) and weirdly enough, i was kinda in a better form then when i didn't do shit before.
Who knows, maybe i'll do this whole "working during week/day" some more lol.

Why not? I personally enjoy going to work. Sometimes I wish I had more time for personal projects tough

So do I. On the days I only have to walk 10 steps to the PC. |

A steady job gives a sense of purpose. Sitting at home is fun for a few weeks, but it gets stale fast.

Like hell does it. It only gets stale fast if you know in the back of your head you have to be working at some point. Otherwise its been a glorious holiday if you ask me...

It only means your life is empty without that job. Really sad.

I work 40-45 hours per week full time and 1-3 hours per day part time (every day), money is okayish, but no free time and I'm pale like shit.
All and all, not so satisfied, got to change something.

No, it means you'll fall into the same schedule after a couple of weeks of free time. Since funds aren't unlimited you can't dick around indefinitely, which doesn't leave a lot of options after some time. If you have less free time, the free time you have is more precious.
IMOIMOIMO.

Yeah, having a full time job would be nice...

Having a full-time job is great if it's a somewhat gratifying experience, otherwise it can become a complete nightmare. When you don't like what you do, or the pay is not proportional to the amount of hours/work, or the human environment around you sucks, then it gets really enervating (most of the times one of these three factors is enough).
Sadly I've never had the pleasure to feel myself proud of my job, most of the times I've been seriously underpaid (like now..almost gratis), and the few times that I've had the chance to actually be part of interesting projects, the companies failed after a few months.
I'm not losing my hope though, better times will arrive..or so they say!

I agree, a stable work week does wonders for you leisure time. You use it more efficiently and enjoy it more.
After I was done with my masters degree, I had 3-4 months of sitting at home, going to job interviews and working ~2 times a week at the bar. The first 3 weeks were fun, after that it got incredibly boring. I still spent a lot of time gaming, but I really felt depressed. Especially since most of the time noone else had time to hang out, since they were all at university or working themselves.
I could easily do something like only work 4 days a week, but not work at all... nope.

Thats how we humans work... we get tired of something if we have too much of it. Everything in life needs balance, then life can be great.
