My impression is that Tottenham bought very talented players for the Bale money. I think that if they are all in the squad for next season the team will be galvanized and perform better as a result. The Spurs team isn't bad at all, just been dealt completely inept managers. I believe they need consistency in management as well as not another spending spree summer in order for the club and players to settle.

Agreed, it reminds me of Internazionale in the pre-Mourinho era, where the club used to spend $60-70mil per year with incredibly poor results, because of both incompetent managers and medical staff, only to change everything -again- right before the start of the following season. The squad iself wasn't bad (they've had Pirlo, Seedorf, Cannavaro..and many others), but somehow they couldn't express their skills at all, they weren't motivated.
Players like Lamela or Soldado for example are good, they only need a stable football environment with a competent manager.

As an Arsenal-fan i can only say how fucked it would be to see Fabregas playing for Chelsea. They're a london rival which makes it just worse. Same thing goes for Man Utd, our biggest rivals after Tottenham. It's really hard to see Fabregas ending up in PL but if he does i'd rather see him in City then in chelski or utd. We did see him off though to barca and we have to opportunity to bring him back due to the clause but I have to agree that he's not really a player we need and spending a big portion off the transfer budget on him when there's a need for a quality CDM, RB and ST will just damage the club more than help it.

Arsenal is onto a new project now with some great players developing really well in the new system and it feels like Fabregas doesn't really have a role in the new Arsenal...

Barca apparently have already replaced him with Rakitic from the Sevilla Discount Store Razz (2nd store after The Atletico Sales this summer)

Meanwhile, Juve is like one of those poor kids on the streets who are waiting for the fat rich guys to drop some crumbs Laughing

Called it long ago. So not exactly surprised.

Very good player. Only lacks a bit of pace, maybe.

Cesc at Barca was a bit of a free spirit. It will be interesting to see if Mourihnos regimented role orientated philosophy is compatible with him.

Lampard was a much better defender.

Official now: http://www.fcbarcelona.com/football/first-team/detail/article/agreement-ivan-rakitic-join-fc-barcelona

Seems like they have some sort of agreement with Higuain as well, but that one isn't confirmed. Napoli fans are already getting mad Laughing

Well I just hope Rakitic won't be warming the bench in Barca.

If yes, then i'm gonna have to ask, what was he thinking.

Yeah, it was from the Real Madrid Legends friendly Very Happy. Sometimes it's sad to see glorious players age and lose their touch, but not Zizou Razz Hierro is still awesome too.
Many ex-Juve players on the other hand, were so fat and out of form when they played against Real some weeks ago Crying or Very sad

I see Chelsea doing their normal tactic, do a bunch of promising transfers and hoping at least one sticks instead of looking what they need in their system Laughing

Now if LFC also can get lost of Suarez, who has been showing excellent bite, he can move to Barcelona (was rumored to be Sanchez, lowering the cost of Suarez). Messi has an issue playing on a different position he's used to? No worries...

Man Utd sign Luke Shaw on a four-year deal. Very Happy

Quote:
Manchester United is delighted to announce the signing of Luke Shaw from Southampton Football Club. He joins on a four-year contract with an option to extend for a further year.
Shaw, 18, recently gained his third cap for England and was the youngest player to feature in this year’s World Cup campaign. The left-back has made 67 appearances for Southampton since making his debut in 2012.

Luke Shaw said: "I am thrilled and excited to be joining Manchester United. I have been at Southampton since I was eight years old and I would like to thank them and the fans for everything they have done for me. I want to continue to progress my career and joining United is the ideal place for me to do that. I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life and also looking forward to learning from the world-class players and management at the club."

Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs said: "Luke is a very talented young left-back with great potential. He has developed immensely during his time at Southampton and has all the attributes to become a top player. I am delighted he has joined Manchester United as I believe this is the right club for him to continue his development as a young player and eventually fulfil that promise."

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Shaw will be a very good player for Man Utd! (and he already is good, very attack-minded). One for the future as well wihich is something that is worth investing in for any team. Smile

Meanwhile... back on Mars:

LFC throws all of their money at Lallana, 26 year old, won nothing, is nothing, a player that will not get better, and will not have re-sale value. It is also a position were LFC has the strongest cover. Insane. It will haunt them for years.
