Definately DVD's if the game requires more than 1 CD. The price of DVDR's have gone down in price and now are about the same cost as a CD.

DVDs, of course. The only reason CD-ROMs are still around is that they're cheaper to produce; COD2 on CDs costs €8 less than on one DVD.

This poll is pointless since dvds will die soon as blu-ray and hd-dvd are coming. These days dvds are a must have for games.

Yep...the media for games, music, movies etc is gunna continually change every so often as new ones are developed and its the user job to keep up.

I think the Blu-rar and hd-dvds will last for atleast 5 years, but then they'll find another format which can hold more info and be read/written quicker ya know?

DVDs simply due to increased storage. This is also a good medium for publishers who have many games but their game doesn't fill a whole DVD. Throw some Demos, movies, etc on the disk and you've got something nice there.

Like it has been said many times now, a DVD drive is extremely cheap. There is no reason to not be using DVDs now as even kids without a job can scrounge up $20 for one.

The next gen is already being developed, called HVD (Holographic Versatile Disc) and can hold up to 3.9 TERABYTES(!)
Should be out around 2010.

Naw, i think cpu speed would increase as need when the bigger formats become available...I mean, installing a 5 TB game on a 2ghz-3ghz would take a long fuckin time...we would need to operate in tb in terms of cpu speed
