How can I set up an outpost at a military site?
I can't seem to radio home, unless I find a stash, is this normal?
I seem to recall from the original that you didn't need those, but I can't find the right button/menu option.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

Lifeline feels very restricted. It takes place in a small map, with small nodes of houses in blobs accessed by traveling back and forth on the same highway.
Base can't be relocated. Base defenses can't be bolstered beyond adding mines and gas tanks.
The thin gates around the perimeter gets breached within half a minute. Next to that the zombies climb over the perimeter fences because guess what, the fences aren't barbed. It really feels bad to not be able to remedy this, also not to be able to clear line of sight by towing away wreaked cars and shit makes the zombies almost instantly appear at your feeble excuse for a fence.
The soldiers you have get gazumped very easily and get rim-jobbed and face-fucked unless you constantly babysit them, which is a chore as you realize all gates to your base have been breached and zombies are pouring in left and right.
You can't place your soldiers where you want them to be. For example, why are they all standing next to the feeble gates that break instantly instead of say, standing in a guard tower or on the roof of a building which is more defensible as the zombies need to climb a ladder?
I like the graphics, combat and a lot more about State of Decay but sometimes you do feel powerless as your control seem so limited with regards of controlling your NPCs and to be able to mold your base into what you want it to be, and to be able to interact with your surrounding area to make the position more defensible. Instead it feels really odd and not at all what I hoped it would be: I was given the impression that I could build and fortify the base more as the threat increased but I'm not allowed to which makes it all fall apart in my opinion.
I want to add that it is a really cool spin on the zombie setting to be the army instead of a nobody survivor, but it sadly doesn't reach its potential this time for me at least.

Anyway to not have NPC's block the god damn door everytime you enter a room? I want them all to die at this point!

A couple days ago I read their community manager's excuse for not having 1440p support: "we're a small team on a budget". And they think they can release an MMO?

That's odd. They should be in a great position to secure more funding with State of Decay as their proof of ability, not including Lifeline which feels half-assed. All in all my impression is that State of Decay has been well-received on both PC and consoles so they must have raked in some cash at least. It all depends on how aggressive they are in searching for "sponsors" and investors to support their multiplayer endeavor.

This pretty much sums it up. It does feel very restricted, the map is huge, but like 75% is unpassable terrain. After playing for a few hours, I feel like I'm already repeating myself.
Are the sieges all there is to it? You just restock and wait until the threat goes to 3 and repeat until finally the zombies overwhelm the base and kill everyone?

Your squad's/base's mission is to extract VIP's for the military. Pre-defined Researchers or people connected with research somehow that show up in succession. Once you complete/fail to rescue somebody, soon a new mission will appear either for a VIP, soldier or civilian. There are also a mission line of collecting samples from various zombies, requiring you to kill them a certain way to ensure you get the sample. You can if you want help civilians and soldiers as well for extra influence bonus in your base which you know is the currency to order supplies from the army chopper as well as grab stuff from your base's equipment locker. Soldiers you rescue obviously help you fight as well.
The gameplay is a cycle, like a clock that resets and ticks down again. From Threat Level 1. Threat Level 2. And Threat Level 3 which is the point where you should head back and prepare for your base to be attacked. I believe the attacks grow stronger and stronger each raid. If you, the player, is not there the base will fall because the AI is inept. Basically this happens in the game: You go and save a target that gets radio'ed in to you as a mission. You bring that target back, and your base has to survive an attack by the zombies. Then a chopper transports the target out of the game. In between these regular raids and between the missions you build some extra ( seemingly very irrelevant ) upgrades to your base next to some electricity for a better radio tower and collect resources from nearby buildings and set up some defensive outposts for the wandering hordes like per usual in State of Decay. Usually I found that I could get most of my resources by spending Influence points and buy them from the military chopper that makes deliveries to you. Scavenging is not as important in this DLC but serves as a supplement.
Then you do the same again, and again. Until you get the option of calling a chopper for extraction, your extraction mission is done, and then you too need to survive a last zombie attack before the DLC ends.
You can try to hold on, I believe the game will just continue until you are overrun or you can call for your extraction as soon as it is made available to you. I believe after all of the research VIPs have either been saved or lost. You get a score board after the DLC ends, indicating that they want you to replay and do more or hang on for longer, but eh, it doesn't appeal to me the slightest. Poor replay value.

Absolutely. It is a bit of trickery I'd say. You're presented with the city map, but only smaller sectors reached from the highway is accessible to the player which to me is a bit sad because you have to travel to the same areas for your rescue missions.
They block the player out by making most of the city Danger Zones. If you step into a danger zone you instantly get flooded with zombies. I'd love it if I could actually bring a lot of soldiers and try to fight to free these danger zones but it is not meant to be possible.
A more open world State of Decay experience as the army would be amazing. That is why this falls short. It was nice to get ammo/weapons/resources even car-drops from the army but when the scope of the DLC is so narrow it takes away a lot of the player's feeling of having choices on how to progress and tackle challenges.
You rarely even need the extra weapons/vehicles because there's many scattered around the map and your base starts with a lot of weapons I hardly ever touched. I only used the equipment locker for ammo refills and pills.

Why did they need to make it an MMO? Just add multiplayer and more content to the State of Decay gameplay and players would love it. Now they're putting out something without zombies? Watch this space, I guess.

I thought making an online sequel to state of decay was always the plan.
No zombies now? From a developer called Undead Labs? Yeah.. not quite what I expected.
Probably nothing I'm interested in.
I just want a more polished state of decay.

Because that was their plan from the beginning. Long before the release of SoD. State of Decay was just a test for some things, what to be and not to be used in the MMO, stuff like that.
