I beat double pursuers without the despawning on a str+faith build. If you get hit by the cursed sword attack one of them goes away so you gotta avoid that (if you want to beat both that is). It's a tough fight, you need patience and a decently fast weapon to get hits in. Ultra greatsword will get you wrecked lol. Comes down to dodging a lot and watching carefully for an opening. Bumrush 1 as they spawn and go nuts to get a bit of a head start. Parrying the charge works well also.

I still have Dark Souls to play. Would it be wiser to go directly to Dark Souls 2? Does the original still hold its own against DS2?

world and bosses are better in ds, but everything else is better in ds2. But it doesn't matter what you play first as there is nothing connecting the two other than easter eggs.

Wut ? Theres alot connecting both games, the story of ds2 lets you understand what you couldnt in the first one.

I couldn't give the slightest fuck about the story in these games.

They're very similar, and each game has its own specific pros and cons, but they complete each other in my opinion. It would be really a crime to skip one..especially Dark Souls 1.
Just grab the DSfix and be ready to immerse yourself into a world made of genuine rage and frustration

DS1 is rougher, heavier and the harder game, but it is absolutely fair while it fucks you in the bumm. It has the superior level setup, better world and monster implementation.
DS2 is much easier and sometimes feels very random. It is quite a bit bigger, with more varied levels, but you won't see that many different enemies and most levels are quite small. There are a lots of bosses but most of them are "Slow Giant enemy with big ass weapon in a big round arena" :/ But the multiplayer and convenant integration in DS2 is great and fun. Though tbh I can't see the benefit of joining another convenant than the bellbros.
Currently replaying DS2 from scratch, won't do that with DS1, because of the missing multiplayer and some...... VERY frustrating areas
Still DS1 is better but DS2 is currently more fun because of the great multiplayer.

or equip the ring of life protection at all times, that way when you die you do not lose your humanity and souls, instead the ring gets broken and you can repair it for 3k souls, which isnt alot later on.

made some progress today after a full week of not playing at all. killed smelter boss+ the old king and then the boss in the flourescent green cave.
Now i'm at drangleic castle, but again, get annoyed by the game quickly. The run to the castle from the bonfire is tediously long and enemy free, so the 2 times i had to walk back got me so annoyed I stopped playing after reaching a bonfire.
I think its simply the fact that i've seen everything in the first game, and this feels like a giant dlc.

Finally unemployed again, time to sink my teeth into this.
Thinking of swordsman/dex build for this one after playing a Str based char in DS1. Any noob traps to avoid?
