Laughing this makes me lulz , when people became so lazy they cant run a simple Amiga emulator and need one click exe

It's not about laziness, it's about convenience and stability. "Run a simple emulator" does not work for every game, settings which work fine on one game will have others crash or run poorly, if at all. This is a self-contained emulator with the settings for those specific games preconfigured and I think it's GREAT! It's useful and it works for the majority of people that want something simple to use, for us power users it can be restrictive since you can't tweak the performance yourself (as Nexus pointed out, Cannon Fodder runs terrible and that would be an easy fix too)

My Amiga 500 is at my Moms place and it has been quite a while since I fired it up.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

yeah i was pissed. i built that 2000 from several non working once (remember, back then the chips in the amiga weren't welded, so basically i kept changing the chips 8with their pretty girl names) on trial and error until i got a combination that worked Smile Man was i proud (i was like 10 or 11 lol).

And soon after i began writing programs in basic on it and also graphical animations. I didn't know basics, of course, so i had the big book with all the commands etc. next to me and basically searched for whatever kind of command i needed lol. that's how i learned basics. So much fun. 00 10 20 30 goto print loop etc haha or the animations which were basically geometric commands with x/y/z start etc. Ah, the gold old times Smile And the hundreds of copies of games of which nobody had a clue where they actually came from (it was always a friend to a friend to friend and nobody had a clue of the source haha). And the thousands of virus with the worst and most scariest names possible etc.

Yeah, they don't build 'em like that anymore Smile

Hahaha, I remember very soon after my Dad got me that Amiga 500, he also got these cases full of diskettes with all those games from "a friend" and we needed to make tons of copies.

The Amiga got a 2Mb Ram upgrade at some point though. Very Happy

Talkie most likely. I don't think the Amiga version is a talkie one, but I could be mistaken.

~edit~

Ah, I see the the Miggy one is 144MB - I guess it's the CD talkie release then. Also, according to Wiki, the Amiga version has a few less animations and the overall images have lost some quality due to the conversion to the Amiga.

I've never heard of that platformer before, but the description sounds interesting.

Also, the second link makes me feel the urge to replay the cannon fodders for the nth time Razz

yep i remember these old case swaps, "hey you got an amiga 500 too? great! i ll give you my 200 floppies over the weekend, and you give me yours!"
afterwards run home with a case full of approx. 50-60% new games with a wide smile, start up x-copy and spend whole weekend pirating at the age of 10 Laughing

maybe i shouldnt be proud of that, given the amiga´s downfall Sad

Piracy wasn't the main cause of the Amiga's downfall, though it didn't help matters!

It made many mistakes not helped by a useless CEO

Waxworks! So Much Win So Much Win So Much Win

It's such a shame that, even in the golden age, RPGs and horror met so rarely Sad
