Why would you want to install an SP game onto an SSD?

128GB ssd here, only using mp, works fine.

im actually kinda surprised there's not too much complaining about this around the internetz (especially the hump)
game is pure gold, but we finally get a good lean system in a game and it gets screwed by controllerism Sad

Why would I differentiate between MP and SP when installing on a particular drive?

It's not just 40GB we're talking about here, it's 40GB of mediocre/average stuff, graphics and technically wise. Same as RAGE, same as COD: DERPS.

Thanks to some bullshit tech that was thought out for last gen consoles.

And done, that was..pretty great, in my opinion. Not flawless by any means and with some annoying shortcomings, but it was a solid linear shooter overall, it felt like a weird cocktail of various games (Bulletstorm, HL2 and some Riddick-esque feel here and there).

I especially liked the gunplay, brutal and satisfying despite the consolish nature (the dynamic cover system was a really nice touch also, same for them glorious health packs, finally) and the pace was perfectly measured. More than decent story/characters/voice acting too, except for the obligatory cliffhanger Mad .. (hopefully we'll have a sequel in the future, who knows, I hope so).

The level design was more than adequate for the most part, even though sometimes the scripted scenes and cinematic baymoments with hand-holding were a tad too intrusive for my liking. I've seen worse though, much worse. Laughing

There was also a noticeable problem with the difficulty, since the first half of the game felt ridiculously easy even at the highest level of difficulty (it got more challenging near the end). AI was hit 'n miss: decent when in combat, downright horrible while stealthing around since enemies basically stay with their backs turned all the time, ready to be stabbed.

As for the idTech, well there's not much to say really that hasn't been said already, it's the same as Rage: beautiful from a distance -> blurry mess up close -> most unjustified mega43GB ever.

Still, I had ~10 hours of fun which is exactly what I was looking for, can't complain. Razz I'd give it a generous 8/10, because good shooters are rare these days.

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/12/10/hdd_vs_ssd_real_world_gaming_performance/1

"In terms of raw video game performance our conclusion is that upgrading to an SSD made absolutely no difference in gameplay performance.

...

Here is what was better with the SSD, as you might guess; load times. Loading each game was significantly faster on the SSD. Transitioning maps during gameplay was also significantly faster on the SSD."

Personally, I only put MP games on my SSDs (ESO, MWO, PS2, that sort of thing). I like being prepared before everybody else (plus the slight reduction in latency). Very Happy (Wolf goes onto the HDD)

Finished the game, I really enjoyed it. The ending is a bit abrupt, but at least it isn't the canonical "and they lived happily ever after". All in all I'd say a solid 8/10. Weirdly for a Wolfenstein game, the technical aspect is the weakest imho. Those textures are really mediocre, more so if we consider how much space they take up.

I have really strange FPS issues, as soon as I move it drops to 20fps. When I stop moving it raised above 40fps...

Msi afterburner is saying I have GPU utilization 96% and more all the time, but my gpu temp and fan speed says otherwise. Especially when I stop for a second or two I got double FPS and then my gpu temp and fanspeed is increasing... So what the fuck is wrong again...

BAD LUCK or something... when some game has a performance bug there is 99% I will encounter it... just like DXHR. I had horrible stuttering when it was realeased. Now it rocks on same computer 60+ all the time...

edit: just unistalled this pos, going back to battlefield 4.

Quote:

Wolfenstein: The New Order launched last week and rocketed to the top of the UK game charts, but it seems that the game has been pirated over 100,000 times already.

[Heavy metal dog image]

The critic seemed to mostly enjoy the game, as you can see in our Wolfenstein: The New Order review round-up. I also reviewed it on PS4.

Now, TorrentFreak reports that the shooter has been downloaded illegally over 100,000 times already, and that’s no small feat considering it weighs in at 43.65 gb.

It’s believed that he file size consists largely of uncompressed textures, and TorrenFreak has cited rumours that there’s lots of junk files in there to bolster the file size and deter piracy. We’re not so sure about that one though.

The site even quoted one torrent user as saying, “43GB, the hell? No thanks, guess I will buy this when the price drops to £29.99.”

Another chap said, “I was gonna get this torrent but I saw the size and how long it would take me to download it, I said fuck it I’m getting it from Steam. Took me 2 hours to download 40GB including the day one update.”

While a third guy apparently said, “I have to uninstall like 10 games to play this shit!!”

So it seems people are actually paying for the game instead of going through the slow process of downloading the mammoth file.

Is that quite clever, or not? Let us know what you think below.

Supposedly pirated 100.000+ times but as usual it's difficult to say if any of these can be directly considered a lost sale, although the publisher probably views it that way.

Nothing new for either console or PC piracy but it's interesting to see statistics now and again.

I had the same framedrops issue and fixed this by setting 'Max PPF' to 16 and 'Shadow resolution' to 2048. For me, this eliminates the pop-in textures and stutter entirely. I have also disabled screen-space reflections and haze flare to get a steady 60 fps at 1080p.

To get rid of the screen tearing without using the shitty internal vsync, I use RadeonPro for vsync with triple buffering. Works like a charm!
