scores are pretty much what i expected and played so far

this sums up pretty much iwhat i feel about it (3h in)

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

A lot more you could do in GTA, imo but yeah. GTA was on another level in terms of production. Also the campaign much better but lets see. I mean some of the profiler integration in the campaign missions is definitely pretty cool

well gta 5 not only set the bar much higher for open world games overall, but also for open world story missions, thats a hard one to reach when you think of the heists.

The whole press gave in to the hype machine, there are some honest and precise reviews out however:

Eurogamer: 7/10
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-05-27-watch-dogs-review

PS4PRO (new website with PS4 content in it): 7.5/10
http://ps4pro.eu/blog/2014/05/26/watch-dogs-shock-to-the-system/

Basically those articles sums it up pretty well:
It's a nice game, but with some major flaws and too much overhyped.

And what did you base this on exactly? Simply because :

a) reviewer gives it high score = must be biased/paid off etc
b) reviewer gives it low score = honest really no .. really scout's honor

?

watch dogs p2p rls + rld crack ... i will try the hotfix today.

for the stuttering, i read a comment that you should use -disablecheckswapfile (?) ... anyone know can confirm that this commando, not sure if written correctly, works or helps to eliminate the stuttering?

Yep, totally worked for me, as I posted a while back. Before using that command, the game, particularly whilst driving, was a cluster-stutter. Afterwards, stutter free.

Comparing W_D to GTA and especially GTAV is ridiculous. Yes, GTAIV was boring too after a while but GTAV is almost the perfect open world game. Story, characters, heists, on-the-fly character switching, hours of hilarious TV Shows and...Euphoria. If GTAV sees a pc release it will be the 99.99% game with mods+custom music+gorgeous graphics.
As expected the game gets mostly 8's and 9's which is hilarious. This one is a 6.5-7.0 the max and taking in account the lacklustre physics, no enviromental damage and other technical flaws it does easily drop to a 5/10 game. IMO.

yep higher production values, established IP , Higher budget => GTA is another level entirely , but that doesnt mean that WD is crap

WD is IMO easily 7-8/10 and big promise for sequels

Personally i am enjoying it much more than GTA4

Shut the fuck up with this "Don't compare these games because in one game you have a gun and the other you have a laser gun, so not comparable" mentality. If the games are similar in game style, then they are comparable. End of fucking story.

Agree.

Also Watch Dogs especially looks like a GTA ripoff. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but comparing it with GTA is natural.

It's all about priorities. You can clearly see the laziness of the devs in W_D. It's not about the budget. I also don't see W_D as a completely new IP. It is actually using AC series as a base. They had time to focus on optimization and missions/campaign design but they've instead chosen to spend time and money for marketing.

Oh, you mean

d) I agree with the non-favorable reviews, so the reviews that present the game in a better light are clearly wrong, my opinion is the only one that matters. Fact.

And before you deny it, your initial post implies exactly that Smile ("honest reviews" etc)

Are you sure? Maybe it's Mafia ripoff? Or Saints Row ripoff? Or Sleeping Dogs ripoff? Heck, they even share the word "dogs" in the title! Cool Face

When will people get over the "GTA-clone" label.

Worst graphics optimization ever. When looking from the balcony at the hideout I get 30 fps with ultra settings and 45 fps with lowest settings and no AA. All that with an i7-2600K and a Radeon R9 290 with 14.6 beta catalysts... and the game looks nothing special at all.
