wtf, gta4 was a great game for its time even though a bit of a letdown. gta5 may be a huge upgrade over 4 in all areas except for realistic driving, but to call 4 one of the worst open world games is retarded.

That's what I am saying. People totally forget how shocking it was in 2008. I bought 360 just for gta IV and was hugely SHOCKED. How is it even possible, I was thinking back then.
Same goes for Gears of War1 which is now largely forgotten as how fantastic it was when it came out. Actually - I am replaying it now and its still great game.

Remember that gta iv is 6 YEARS OLD. Game being 6yo should look like trash. Imaging 1994 game in 2000. yeah.... now games don't really move that fast anymore

When it came out my PC was too weak for it Also hated all that GFWL+Rockstar-whatever that it required. I tried it again some years later with a new PC but never finished it because it was just so damn boring and bad. Also the city was just a bunch of grayness. The main story is over 30hours. It have it's ups and downs, i agree. Sleeping Dogs campaign is certainly better.
But gta iv strenght is/was in characters, open world itself, physics and all little detail which previous gta games never had.
Shame we don't have Saints Row1 on pc. This one was also fantastic and kinda more serious than later games. I need to finish it

look at 6:00 window reflections comparison. that one I didn't knew about. well next gen Laughing

Shame GTA5 dropped the car physics (or at least reduced them and the car damage model)

The comparison goes to far when they compare water tho. Watch Dogs water is totally fantastic. It looks a bit gooey but man... its dynamic and just looks great with tesselation. GTA IV water is also nice and dynamic but in a even more goooey way. btw. PC version of gta iv have broken water setting, which automaticly switch to low even after it was set to maximum but does it in the abckground and the setting stills ays max

well gta4 was technically great, but yea the main campaign itself was a bore and pretty repetitive, gta5 campaign was far better and more fun, also had more interesting characters. i swear after 15 minutes i couldnt stand niko and roman´s horrible pronounciation and accents, coupled with the overclichéd commentary on the american dream. instead i just went on a rampage to have some fun and later forced myself to finish the main story.

yeah. Gta 4 story and characters were something You either liked or not. I for once, loved Niko and few supporting characters... but he can hide under the couch in comparsiosn to mr. Mass bans on neogaf. Every single person who talked about performance needs to post receipts / pics of their cds etc and whatnot to prove they weren't playing the pirated version. Thread went silent and people getting banned left and right. There's no release date check from UPlay itself so buying a physical copy and installing that will allow you to play.

However redeeming the key into Steam won't allow you to download and I believe redeeming a UPlay key will also not allow you to install the game that way though if you do redeem the key into UPlay you should be able to play with this leaked release by removing the loader/crack and it'll probably boot up through UPlay. Smile

(But the install manifest file could be a problem since it will differ, that's the uplay_install.manifest file in the games main folder.)

I thought something like that would happen, I mean some stores sold early but then somehow the game became available everywhere? Of course Neogaf admins / moderators would ask for proof of purchase from people claiming to have the game legitimately.

stutters have been uplay related before , bad cracks etc. the horribad fps per performance of your rig is prolly just the game tho
