Runs fine on ultra settings on my 780m. Vsync is required in this game. Unplayable without it. Game runs fine for me. It has the occasional texture pop but I get smooth frame rate and it plays good. Not sure what all the bitching is about. Gameplay wise this game is top notch.

anyone else gets crash to desktop after starting a new mission? after visiting the headquater the second time game crashes when talking to anya to start the next mission. very annoying cause cant see the cutscenes then... starting the game again and resuming skips the mission intro. dont think its a problem with the biks, cause within the missions there are plenty of them playing fine

I'd verify your content with steam. Likely have corrupt files.

I don't have vsync enabled and I get no tearing. I'm running everything on ultra and it runs fine/smooth.

It's not as bad on a normal PC monitor, but on my giant 60'' Sony Bravia any tearing is super noticeable.

I am really enjoying this game! I played it for about 10 minutes the other day and I was annoyed that they start off with a turret mission at the beginning of the game lol but today I decided to give it another try and played for several hours and Im glad I did. It plays like an old school shooter. Reminds me of quake Very Happy

The graphics aren't anything special. I hope this game has interesting weapons like the Wolfenstein game from 2009. Usually I dont care much for the story line in games but I actually really got into the story of this wolfenstein Laughing

Has anybody figured out why the game is 40gb though?

BTW, was having some weird micro-stuttering because of them Megalodontextures, but this trick with the cache helped: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Wolfenstein:_The_New_Order#Make_texture_cache_folder (worth a shot if you have a similar issue - it's most likely a repost though Razz)

The textures are uncompressed. Only problem is that a lot of the textures they did a poor job on IMO. From a technical standpoint the game looks good and it would have looked better with better developed textures IMO. The game as it is has some stunning moments and for how fluid the game runs I think it should be respected for that.

Just finished it too on second hardest difficulty: 8/10

Was much better than i expected it to be, especially the characters and the story!
But the graphics most of the time: Vomit
40GB for such a blurry mess, and the videos weren't really high quality either..
Too bad i didn't got SweetFX to work, would probably helped a lot. (but not for the constant texture pop ins)

@Mchart

From a TECHNICAL standpoint the game looks terrible, but from an AESTHETIC one it looks fantastic Very Happy Technical as in.. the textures are low quality, there's no dynamic lighting, no dynamic shadowing, everything is prebaked and it shows. It's pretty as a "picture" but could have been so much more with a capable engine instead of this Tech5 bullshittery. Still one of my favourite shooters though - like RAGE, funnily enough Smile

Just up to the prison, really enjoying it a lot.
Technically speaking it may not be impressive but it looks great and a game done well is a game done well.

This is one the best fps' I've played in a long time that didn't just grow old quick.

Just don't look to closely at the ground and it should be fine. Very Happy
(Or any other textured surface aside from characters / NPC's, I suppose vehicles and pickups like weapons, armor and ammo are OK too.)

EDIT: That said ~33 GB of Megatexture for this amount of texture clarity is a bit skewed, VRAM usage is pretty high as well due to this especially if compression is disabled.
(But at least it ensures that each area has a very unique and wide variety of textures and tiling while it exists is somewhat lessened.)

So I heard the both timelines are same? Just health and armor upgrade change.

Is it true? Sad Not even alternate ending?

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Same here! I was looking forward to Watch Dogs since last year and I figured I would just get this game out of the way before playing Watch Dogs but I played WD last night for a good 2 hours and I love Wolfenstein more

Il admit the game does look amazing in some parts. The visuals definitely have their moments. At times the game reminds me of HL2 meets Dishonored. The game runs perfect for me Ive never seen it dip below 59fps on ultra settings. Im also playing at 1680x1050 so thats probably why

Either way, I have very little to complain about in this game. Its like a classic shooter with no bullshit "nextgen innovation" attempt

Quote:
Go to %LOCALAPPDATA%
Make a folder named MachineGames
Go into that folder and make a folder named Wolfenstein The New Order
The game will now correctly store the texture cache between sessions.

Information: The game creates two files there, one of which is 1 GB in size. This file is not deleted after ending or uninstalling the game and has to be deleted manually.
