I didnt follow the hype but even when i am playing it now i dont like it, the side missions are redundant as fuck, and the game feels like a weak ripoff from GTA V with some "Hacking" which is not that spectacular in the first place, its just pressing x taking over some camera's and moving some cranes. Oh and the mini game to hack some computer for a mission is tedious, connecting pipes with eachoter are you serious?
Apparently, you should play the PS4 version before judging.
Very disappointed with this, everything in game is just average. I've been playing the PC version and i cancelled my PS4 pre order digital version very soon after playing.

And I did not judge the game by it's graphics. I have no problem with the overall graphics on the x360, even though it's super aliased (which, to a degree, I understand why). I compared the old-gen version vs next-gen one, I'm well aware that the game looks much better on next-gen systems, though that hardly makes it a better game. The only place I swung the hammer of judgement was on the piss poor mechanics, repetitive activities and a boring ass city (no wonder everyone's trying to kill everyone else!).
I totally agree with cobALT and the general consensus here. This game sounds cool in theory but gets down to a repetitive mix of generic gameplay mechanics paired with a lame story. Too bad.
Visually, the game looks great on the PC and PS4. Controls are so-so.
UbiSoft games have no soul. Guess that what happens when 4000000 people across the entire world work on it.

It was for segobi the game is poor in gameplay the only thing I have done till act 2 is press a button to hack chase knock down and run away Fuck you ubisoft
those car crashes and explosions ive been enjoying running and driving along the city for several hours and it hasn't become boring yet. Still enjoying it. I can't really compare it to the x360 version - when i played the leaked x360 version i thought of sending back the game - but now im glad to have it. Feels like a different game to me. driving into a store with a motorbike and robbing it - priceless!
Is it immersive on the ps4? And is the World believable?

Seriously tho, its worth completing. The campaign alone is probably about 15 hours. I play the way I play, so I completed the game at 35% total progress
At first I was very hyped , now Im expecting 7-8 game...Im still sure Im gonna like many aspects of the game and Im still looking forward to it next week.

You know what, 8/10 is probably a fair score. Lower than most free roaming games out there, but it does have it issues. Then again police chase in this game is 100 times more fun than in GTA 5 (with upgrades that is)
for me nothing comes close to gta IV police chases. I just used to do that for hours. Just trying to live as long as possible

Wow so far the reviews seem to paint a different picture to that of the last gen players here ( I know some of you have it on ps4 btw, but the majority of the hate came from x360/ps4 users).
Very suprised to see it scoring so differently to your combined opinions...
@ Horrordee : the PC section has its share of haters too... I actually played the game on PC and PS3 and except graphics, the game is 1:1 the same. Opinions here for ps360 are legit. Just ignore the graphics.
I think people have unrealistic expectations when it comes to video games nowadays. That is the problem. People hyped certain games to the point where they are expecting a "MasterPiece" every time. It's not going to happen.
Not every game will be a Last of Us, or a Far Cry 3. Take it for what it is. I believe this game is solid in it's own right. Look at the game "Wolfenstein" that game was NEVER hyped by anyone, and look how great it turned out. There were no expectations for that game and that is why it's great.
Is Watchdogs a good game yes. Is it amazing GOTY type material? No in my opinion, but it doesn't mean it's bad. It's worth buying, but try to lower your expectations a bit, stop hoping it will be better than GTA V or any other game you like. The game is a solid 8 to an 8.5 that is good enough for me.

The gameplay is 1:1. It is confirmed by everyone and officially. The pedestrian density is yet to be confirmed if it differs. I doubt though because there are "stories" behind each pedestrian.
Well 8/10 is still 8/10. My expectations have been firmly managed. So long as I find it enjoyable enough to continue playing , then I will do. I really enjoyed killzone4 when most people did not... And there aren't many things I can play on my ps4 right now!

I had zero expectations from W_D and still hold my current opinion, which might see hard to notice but it's a lot more positive than I hoped (I expected another AC1 and a clusterfuck of a port regarding old gen systems).

looks 10x more interesting and I assume it's what W_D used to be before the business/marketing derpos started messing with the project. It looks a lot better than W_D, technically and mechanically, and it's presumably running on x360/ps3 (though it might just be a scripted, target render).
