Regardless, there's a huge downgrade from 2012 reveal, but this is more like the 2013 footage. Texture quality is poor, outdoor daytime lighting is bland, indoor/nighttime lighting is nice. Imo GTAV on PS3 in daylight looks better than W_D PC Ultra settings. By "better" I mean better lighting, more colorful, more "believable" (realistic) and not as bland as W_D. I don't compare textures or anything like that. Even with worse textures and aliasing I find GTAV prettier to look at. |
Infamous Second Son beats them both imho.

No, it goes through but it only leaves a small crack, the same generic effect you get in games when you shoot windows.
The rear one and the side ones you can break them though. Damage is crap as well, I remember in GTA V you could make the car half its size by kicking it. Also if you crash other cars no matter the speed nothing happens to the drivers.
The clothes you can't see how they look on you without buying them first, WHAT?! (or maybe I didn't figure out how).
There's no use for the silencer either, tried to shoot some guys in a backyard basement I was playing poker with a silenced pistol, 3 quick shots to the head, I get a civillian calling the police in front of the house.
You can't shoot other cars while driving but they can shoot you. This is game breaking to me/makes no sense.

I never skip dialogue tho There is about 100 side missions, so enough to do! Iv done 8 so far
Taking over gang turf was kinda interesting, found cool places that weren't relevant in the campaign. The jack a car/bike/boat side missions either gives you waypoint, enemies or cops after you.
I like 3 (out of 4) of the digital drug games. All of these games got skillpoints, so its easy to get addicted, at least the spider game The one I didn't like is about jumping from a flower to another -.- I get it he is on drugs, but that kind of crazyness is for the saints row devs

I'm playing the X360 version and so far I like it.. I think the gfx are really goood and on par w/ GTA V ... I don't own a next gen console or a Gaming pc so maybe I just don't have my brain set to the high standards of many of the others in this thread bashing it... Game is fun and def worth the bandwith to grab it... I'm sure the next gen ver are superior but I am happy w/ it as is... This is def the first game I have played since dark souls that has me wanting to dedicate a weekend to play...

1. Windshield's don't just break man =)) it's not just a piece of glass.
2. you can shot if you're the passenger, you just cannot shoot while driving.
I found the game super fun on pc and the low settings didn't actually hurt my eyes, the car controls are just fine for me, but then again i use the breaks sometimes. The character movements look exactly like acIV, but, overall, with all the negative hype going on these past weeks i feel like the game actually delivered more than i ever expected.Also, the hack at the press of a button is obviously the best choice, since i don't think you wanna press 4 buttons to hack a thing while driving, or complete a whole puzzle just for one camera. Now i'm waiting for my ps4 copy which should be graphically better in my case...
Suggestion: if you like the idea buy it, but, if you never did, playing it won't change your mind.

I played some more last night and all I experienced was what seemed to be a bunch of side missions. Go to this area, follow this person and stop someone from attacking them while remaining unseen. For actual gameplay this translated into me pressing the X button a couple of times, doing a few seconds of driving (which is awful compared to GTA) and then snuck up behind a dude and pressed the A button one time to take him out.
I got disgusted and turned it off. I want to like it but is this really all there is to this game or is there an actual main story that offers different/combined elements for a bit of variety?

Ive searched back 10 or so pages and coudnt find any mention of this exact problem so hopefully somebody can help me...
Ive got an older Xbox system with a samsung ms28 with LT+2.01 (latest version for samsung)
Ive downloaded and burned both the p2p and the complex versions.
Both versions stall at around 45% of installing data from disk1 with an error saying there are corrupt or missing files.
Will the fix posted earlier for the p2p version using xbox backup creator v2.9 (splitvid conversion) fix this problem,or is it something else?
I had thought the complex version didnt need that fix yet I have the same error with both versions.
Also, after I ran that xbox backup creator splitvid fix, abgx no longer finds the default.xex in the root of the iso so nothing gets checked.

What?? Of course they break if you spray 100 bullets in them, real life or games. In GTA V it breaks with 1-2 bullets.
I finished the game now, not once I've been a passenger or able to shoot from a car, so I don't know what you're smoking.
I'll give it an 8.

Think of it as AC1. You have a game build around an interesting concept, but a) as a sandbox game, it's pretty bleak; b) the mechanics are pretty poor.
So far I do think they did a slightly better job with this than AC1, but repetitivity seems to thrive here as well, just like in AC games.
On a side note, I got the 360 version and it runs ok, and looks a lot better than I expected a next-gen game to look on last-gen systems. Only thing I can't stand is the aliasing, but interiors and exteriors at night/during rains look great.
Oh and sounds, seems like there's that poor_ mans_open-world_game characteristic of quiet cities, there's none of that urban background noise. The music selection and lack of radio posts is pretty disappointing as well.

I didnt follow the hype but even when i am playing it now i dont like it, the side missions are redundant as fuck, and the game feels like a weak ripoff from GTA V with some "Hacking" which is not that spectacular in the first place, its just pressing x taking over some camera's and moving some cranes. Oh and the mini game to hack some computer for a mission is tedious, connecting pipes with eachoter are you serious?
