Well I just tried the latest CM 10.1, everything was OK until someone tried sending me an MMS. Getting com.android.mms has stopped working. Every now and again I will get a message through but it looks like i might have to wait for a RC build before I go back to CM.
Trying the Leaked Android 4.2.2 XXUFME3 now

I use FoxHound 2.4 since some months now:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1708371
Tried or looked at some other roms, but this one has all the available options like in CM, but still looks like stock rom and doesn't change too much besides the many added options.
But 2.5 seems to be a bit buggy, so i stay on 2.4.
Oh and everything works without problems, camera too.

based on stock rom but with improvements and all the bloat removed. it's stable yet fast. all these completely custom roms are a pain in the ass imo, always some kind of annoying issues that never seem to get fixed.
i would recommend v6.6, as v7.0 is based on a leak and not final version.

I've been using Andriod Revolution HD for a long time now. I was wondering whether it's still (one of) the best. Would you guys recommend another ROM? If not, I'm going to flash to 40.0.

I've been using 4.3 for some time now, I have a very irritating problem. My battery is being drained because the fourth core stays at 100% quite often. Looking at battery stats, I think mail-service causes the problem. After one day, it has taken up 19% of the battery. I can force stop the service, but then I obviously can't check my mail since it won't sync and the service seems to restarts itself at random. My sync options are covered and I can't see a pattern in the peaks. What can be the problem?

Perhaps a corrupted mail database? What kind of mail service is it? Try perhaps removing the account, making sure that the database file is cleaned and setting the account again?

It's just an Hotmail account via the standard mail app (not the gmail one). I'll try your suggestion, thanks.
edit: that fixed it thanks.

What's the easiest way to completely wipe a rooted S3, keep the root and install the stock S3 ROM? I also need to transfer all data from an iPhone 4 to the S3.

Download stock firmware, flash it through odin and then just root it.

Yep, I'm a moron, it's that easy. I also found Mobiletrans which seems to be able to transfer directly from one phone to another. Even iOS to Android.

international with 1GB and mali quadcore wont be getting it sadly enough , though i cant for the life of it understand why .... 4.4 will use less ram than 4.3 .... so new touchwiz ui will take a lot more ram? why not current touchwiz on 4.4 ?
anyway note 2 which is same chipset as our international S3 ( quad core mali ) but with 2GB ram instead got the 4.4 + new touchwiz and on X D A there is a thread with a quite succesful port of it to the S3 if you are interested.
im sticking with the stock rooted 4.3 for now. maybe next year ill get the S5 when prices have gone down to half of what they are now. my S3 does all it have to do so no rush to upgrade.
