So I am applying for a job in a state statistics departmant, something with informatics. The job is for 200€, because it's subsidised by state. Basically those without any work experience can get some experience that way. So yesterday I had to get court document saying I don't have any criminal charges aginst me. That took ages because our state is fucked, and administration is slow.

Finally I get it all, prepare cv, job application, all the fuckton of documents, go today to give them all, just to realize I forgot the copy of my ID -.-

Plus I forgot usb where I printed the documents, so I had to get that as well. I've been going back and forth all day, because I'm retrded as fuck.

Oh did I mention, it's for fucking 200€?

For 6 years I've fucked with physics to work for 200€...

Fml

It's 200€ per month for a year. Our government calls that: active employment policy...

I guess you have to start somewhere, but it's kinda frustrating, knowing I'll be a burden to my parents for a year. Also that I won't be able to live on my own.

All the jobs I see require 3 years of prior work experience, and that's for a begginers job Laughing

Fuck that, don't let yourself scare away by that!

I recently saw an advert for a job, where they said that they search for people with 5 to 10 years of experience in a software framework, that only exists for a year and isn't even properly used anywhere on the world yet Laughing

I wish 200€ per week, that would be an average salary here.

I'll do web design with my bf here and there, practice my programming, and hope for the best.

I managed to add the copy of my ID. The guy who worked there was friendly, and I had luck, because they didn't sent the applications to the offices on the other part of town.

I wouldn't work for 200€ per month if I had a choice, but I just don't want to be at home all the time. Plus I'd like to have some money on my own...

Life sucks...

Sad
We don't have these state-subsided "jobs" here, but we have lots of 6 months unremunerated contracts with expense allowance (200-300€) and that's it. People are so desperate that these offers* are incredibly sought-after since the unemployment skyrocketed in the last 5 years and there are no other subsidiary helps, unlike the rest of EU..

I'm for hire for that amount of dough!

Be ware though you get what you pay for, for 200 I would show up once per month, leave one pubic hair on the director's table, smack the forehand of the secretary with my penis and leave while whistling the tune from the song 'Good Life' Razz

So if you have the time give them my credentials maybe they are interested Smug

200? Don't you mean 1200? 200? 200x1? 20x10? So basically, you'd be working for free? 200 would only cover your expenses.

Well that's low, my first job (as a trainee civil engineer) was for ~500 Euro, and that's in Poland where people actually earn 300-400 per month in real jobs.

Minimum wage here is 20% higher (R$720, about 240 euros), but the cost of living is probably higher than his country... I guess the real issue is making minimum wage when you have a physics degree, that is beyond absurd.

Actually, this is far below the minimum wage for someone with a college degree. (the minimum is about 700 euros)

They are trying to make employers hire more young people so that they would gain some experience so that they would reduce the unemployment rate which is catastrophic.

Also, you can't even remotely live off 200 euros. If he lives in Zagreb, that would be about enough to cover only the monthly bills, and absolutely nothing else.

People that earn 650 euros per month are just getting by, 200 euros is pure shit. It's so that they could say that you're not working for free. (although, it is just like you are)

I'm at around €250-400/day now, and I'm still rather underpaid compared to others in the same business, which is why I want to change job.

Pretty much this.

With 200€ I have the option of living with my parents for a year, basically burdening them for another year.

I will be able to buy additional health care (it's <9€ per month), so that's cool. Oh and until September I'll be able to buy monthly transportation ticket for ~15€ because in the eyes of a transportation system in Zagreb, I'm still a student Cool Face But after that it will be some 45€ :\ Which is ludicrous for the shitty transportation we have here - yesterday, while running all over town, when I entered the old trams with no air condition it was like I entered mobile sauna ffs...

@Phil: I tried looking at programming/web design jobs, but they all look for someone with experience (3 yrs mininimum). Also most of the programming I'm finding is for Java or something to do with databases (SQL etc.). And I don't know that sadly :\

Well If I get this, and that's a big if, because they can find any stupid excuse not to hire you in the state service, I'll see what's it about and work, try to get some experience at least.

I've recently seen a job offer for Junior Java Programmer in Brussels for 340-400€...daily. But they required 3 years minimum, so not that junior for me. I didn't apply, because I've got 2 years and after a talk with the guy he said to try next year. Now I get 950-1000€ a month after taxes, which is considered very good, especially for a person with only two years of experience. But compared to the rest of the "civilised" Europe it's still shit.
One example that clearly shows the differences in my company is the referrals programme - if I recommend someone and he gets hired, I'll get 4000 PLN (again around 950€, but it's before taxes). If I worked for the same company in the states (it is from US) - I'd get 2500$, which is almost twice that. And if I worked for this company in the UK, I'd get 2500£ - and that's more than triple the money here. For the exact same thing - recommending a person I think they should hire.

Today I earn €2150 a month after taxes (including holiday bonus) but when I started my job almost 9 years ago, I had €1100. That was really the minimum (minimum wage is €1000) and it really put me off working. If an unemployed person could get €1200 (if he made enough before losing his job), then why on earth should someone working only get €1100?

The job market is very unfair though. A lot of people take jobs they didn't study for, leaving those who DID study for those jobs in the cold. Often these jobs are taken by pretty ladies who are absolutely shit at it and it pisses me off. At work, most of the clients I work with, have women in these places and most of them barely know how to do their jobs properly. In fact, one guy at one client got kicked out and got replaced by a girl who is insanely pretty but she's HORRIBLE at her job.

In short: people in HR need to stop thinking with their damn DICK. When I was unemployed, girls in my class got a job months before I did and they were all less skilled than me - there's nothing more demotivating than realizing that looks get you everywhere and skills seem a lot less important for starting jobs.
