I was having a similar issue like the one quoted below and I used the fix in same quote and now the game runs pretty good.

Quote:
So what is the frame rate for guys with older cards? I have a dx10card (9800gt) and I get only 1 fps (yes one, its not a typo) on lowest settings.

I know this sounds bizarre and like it wouldn't work. but try using a cracked exe (like RLD exe) and renaming it to something else other than original filename. my friend had similar issues and this solved it for him. no idea why renaming the exe was important, but it was.

Yea, i can really feel the Riddick DNA in this one.
I've escaped, what, three prisons already? Very Happy
They do have a prison fetish, and for driving huge mechs about, killing everyone.
Riddick was so good!
I wish this was as open ended though, with more option for stealth approach.
I also really don't appreciate taking my guns away every level for no reason.
Especially my rare knives.

With the Wolf3D easter egg I was disappointed I didn't get a second easter egg for finding the secret exit. Sad
I remembered all the secrets, too.

I like the fact that most of the germans in this game are indeed germans Razz Reminds me of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, they had some pretty good german voice actors too...

Its a shame that Deathshead is not a german though... ( the speaker ) Very Happy

Fine, it looks bad even for a 2013 game, that better for you? Razz

No. I want to know which titles looked better than Wolfenstein (for you or others that think it's not "that good" looking).

Yep, one thing that bothers me though is that they most likely only had 2 voice actors for the common soldiers and both of them have a (northern?) bavarian accent. Not sure if non German speakers are even able to hear it Razz

Crysis 3 , Battlefield 4 , Bioshock Infinite , Metro Last Light , Far Cry 3 , Planetside 2 and so on and this is for shooters i'm not even counting other genres Very Happy It does not look horrible or anything but you cannot really say there aren't games that look better ,really now Laughing

My problem is that it runs like shit for what is looking , this game have no reason to run like is running now Smile Also is a buggy mess

On topic: Holly shit this is the worst optimization i've even seen in my entire life.. i'm amazed

I can run it actually Laughing let me explain to you why i think is the worst optimization i've ever seen , in the starting level in the plane i run it at ~5-6 fps while in the next mission i run it at over 30 ... and i'm not the only one who have this kind of problems , if the game would not run at all sure .. i have shitty PC i guess but it should run shitty all the way Smile And a 30 fps boost is huge is not like i get an extra 5-ish fps , and this is why i think the optimization is horrible , maybe is a bug or something and they will fix it but until that i keep my opinion Very Happy
And the bugs are all over the place this game needs serious fixing and don't act like i'm the only one who say this Smile

Vegi it must have had something to do with the texture caching messing up. I had the same issue (had 1-2 fps in the plane) but after restarting, it was running fine.

I restarted about 2-3 times in the plane but i gave up and try to go to the next level with shitty fps because a friend of mine had the same issue witch was auto resolved in the next area , and he was right , but after a while the game starts once again to randomly drop fps for no reason ..i'll just skip it till patch Very Happy

Has anyone tried it on older hardware ? I only have a c2d e8400 @3.3ghz, 4gb RAM and a gtx260.

I'm thinking if they improve their texture streaming shit and optimize all around and Nvidia releases drivers optimized for this game, then maybe ... ?

@Yondaime

ru seriously saying that all these games are better in terms of graphics than WNO? Surprised
Bioshock Infinite? Seriously? Very Happy

Tomb Radier? If you look past all fancy post processing filters it has a really simple graphics.

OK. Reaction

WNO is not a winner for sure, it has streaming textures problems and other dated stuff but it is most certainly not a fugly piece of crap as some humpers here try to present it.

I don't even try if i was you.. the game struggles on newer setups so on older ones i don't want to imagine that .. you can only wait for a patch and maybe they will fix it Smile IMO this game have no reason to run this badly Smile
Or try to restarting till it works , worked for russ80 apparently so maybe you'll be lucky and work for you also Very Happy

I think you guys are being a bit harsh. Yes it does have moments when it looks outdated, but there's also plenty of other spots where the environments look great.

Finished the game now, on Normal. Besides of somewhat easy, its' boring as hell...

The Good:

-Nice scenarios
-Character designs
-NAZI KILLING!

THE BAD:

-Though it's pretty straight, there's not much of a guide to tell you where to go.. Instead you must rely on the frigging map every now n then..

-Barely used Dual Weapons at all..Except when you're desperate to finish a big enemy fast and you know how to beat em etc

-The Ending

-Too Easy

So you finish it on "normal" and complain twice it's too easy? Don't think perhaps the skill level you played it on had something to do with that? You can change it mid game you know...

Apparently you don't know how to beat them. Why you use akimbo weapons when you have the laser weapon? When its fully charged it kills EVERY enemy with 1 shot, even that big armored guys with the turrets instead of regular weapon. Even so it has auto aim...

Keep finding parts for that thing, it's bouncing off walls now though the weld function is still not that useful.
(Wohoo I can open a crate, well I guess it's needed to progress in a few events where you simply can't shoot the chain off.)

Wait until you get the scope - it will add a charge function (It can't be turned off though - as long as you look through the scope its charging (there is a scale))

Haven't had this much fun with a shooter in ages. Love the carnage, attention to detail, facial expressions, messed up scenarios etc (yeah some faces do look a bit bad Razz)

 Spoiler:

I really think they screwed up with the first level though, makes the game look so bad compared to the rest. They even implemented some sort of realtime reflections in the idtech5 engine which add a nice touch considering most other games nowadays use fake ones.

Well, I've played the first level, which is indeed pretty bad, but I'm aware that the game gets much better. As expected, no performance issues with all settings on max values, except for shadows which I left on 4096. Also, I found the game doesn't look as bad as some screens and comments made me fear but the crappy engine does show its weaknesses here and there. All in all it manages to look better than RAGE so far.

I will give it time before fully commenting on gameplay as the first level has been completely boring in that respect.
