Great monitor, but that would resolution would kill my gaming setup!!

Another thing with the Asus, the screen leans to the left that other users have reported and having a fixed stand there is no way of rectifying it.

Back to good old Dell, i love the quality.

I'm going to be upgrading my Dell 2209WA soon, i'm also 99% that it will be a Asus VX239H

The 27" would be overkill for my setup and viewing distance. Also i think the 23" be a better option close up at 1080p.

Just thought i'd quote myself. I ended up buying the Asus VX239H. It looks a nice monitor sat on my desk, however i am not impressed with the overall picture quality coming from my dell 2209WA.
Even with the increase in resolution it doesn't look any better, in fact i much prefer my old dell. The Asus has terrible screen bleed in the bottom right corner that extends right to the middle of the screen. Colours seem off and i can't seem to calibrate to a satisfactory result.

Maybe this isn't the monitors fault but more the increased res, but fonts text ect seem sharp and blurry (if that makes sense!). In fact this monitor is very hard to use over long periods, i feel eye strain very quickly and find it generally uncomfortable to view.

Maybe it's a bad example but i'ts going back to Amazon and i'll buy a Dell U2414H and see how that looks. Luckily Amazon are quite good with returns and collect for free, no monies lost Smile

Why U2414H??

http://www.newtechnology.co.in/compare/?product_ids=100934,96861

U2412M is better: bigger resolution, better brightness...

If I had the money I'd buy this one tho U2713HM

I was debating between those two. Having read quiet a lot of posts regarding it suffering from low frequency PWM, people mentioning flickering or flickering out of the corner of their eye. I decided against it.

I would prefer a 1920x1200 size but i can't justifying spending to much money on a new monitor.

Yes that's very possible. There were more instances i read about on various forums on the flickering. Also the 2414 uses a newer IPS panel, not sure all the different variations make that much difference tbh.

Now i'm going to have start researching the two again, damn you Dingo Very Happy

I've got till mid week or beyond to make my mind up so no rush.

I think I've read that 2412m is not that good for gaming, but I don't game that much anymore so :\

But do your research, no matter what Wink

My mom got a 27" dell with an IPS panel. Holy bumbum does it look great compared to my TN panels.
I wish I had bought one instead of a 120Hz monitor. Sad
