it depends what version did you played, 1.03 had fixed weapon degradation and re-spawning [enemies now re-spawned on outposts after 12h in game time , then 2h in 1.0]

The outposts were only an issue if you stuck to the road. The whole point of being in a jungle is that you can go around them. In fact, it was often quicker to take a vehicle offroad or even sprint on foot through the jungle because it not only avoided enemy checkpoints but it was often a shorter route. Or you could use boats, which rarely encountered enemies it couldn't outrun, in my experience.

well, fc1 isnt really a farcry game of the current series, but more like a crysis game (after all it was made by crytek), so i dont count it.
from the ubisoft fc games, fc3 was great and alot of fun, fc2 was boring and shit.

i love the fact they took himalaya as location, since uncharted 2 i have a huge boner for himalaya levels in gaming.

Ever tried Cursed Mountain?
I just hope it won't be a FC3 clone with snow. It would be great if they add a bit more variety than just a few generic missions over and over again...
FC3 had an interesting story but it was all about repetition. Too much of it, actually.

Someone said FC1 gameplay was bad, I really disagree. It was an excellent FPS, even through the trigens that people complain about for god knows what reason, as if killing monsters in a FPS is a bad thing now? It was a island where an evil company did crazy experiments, of course there's mutants. I hate that to this day people complain about it, it's probably a small part of why we have nothing but codshit now
FC1 was the best FPS game of them all, my only complaint would be the weapon limit

fc1 was an awesome game, but i compare it to crysis and not the new fc games, they dont really have anything to do with it aside from the name.

FC1 was great until I encountered the super mutant apes. From there I lost interest in the game.

I actually liked the Trigen, especially once the game started progressing deeper into the facilities, as it took the whole "oh look, mercenaries can see and shoot me from eleventy miles away.. through foliage too!" stink away from the game and made it into a more focused shooter.

Yeah, but then you had the super monkeys with rocket launchers (the only reason I know that is because I actually tried to replay the game last year because the first time I honestly did stop at the super apes). |

As I said, I liked the game but the outposts were terrible. Besides that, the game is really good imo. I still prefer FC3 though.
