Watched cause the wife thought it looked good.... it wasn't... surprise surprise. |
You're so generous. Movies like this deserve a 0/10 instantly. I can't see how someone can stand such terrible acting for more than 15-20 minutes. It's amazing how this industry works in favour of untalented persons like Zac Efron.

Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit - 5/10
Had a tough time rating this..as a movie its not bad but I'm getting really tired of these updated jack ryan timelines. Would be nice with a period piece. Not to mention they've decided to make him a soldier now as well which doesnt make any fucking sense. The whole point of Jack Ryan is a normal man triumphing through will and determination...meh..well..Chris Pine wasnt totally awful, neither was Costner but..GUYS COME ON THE BOOKS ARE REALLY GOOD ;(
Hunt for Red October is still the best, imo.

Lego Movie 20/10
I enjoyed this movie far more than I should've enjoyed as an adult. That nostalgia moment. So damn awesome

Robocop (2014) 4/10
The acting was rather bad (crappy cast), forced drama made it even worse, missed the cheesy humor, no gore, The ED units looked less menacing, Meh music and out of place, lot of derp moments... Nope this was not Robocop to me. Could have been worse tho.

Wasn't only the stop motion tho. These just look to sleek and have 0 personality (Robonality?!? ) while in the original it wasn't just one of the hundreds that could be destroyed rather easily.
of course the stop motion has some effect making it look a bit more uncanny

3 days to kill
6.5/10
Actually really enjoyed it, Costner was great, and I thought it was a good mix between cool action, humor and personal growth/emotion... Yeah, I really liked it. Ending was a bit predictable and silly but the enjoyable majority of the film means I can overlook it... Really nice film.

Awesome action scenes, I was pleasantly surprised. Proly the perfect movie for a big plasma.
3 Days to Kill - 7/10
Costner is entertaining in this one, unusually so.

Grave of the Fireflies - 10/10
OMG that was horrible, this movie reminded me of things that i prefer to ignore, not that i dont know the issues, but applying it to modern society it reminded me how things may not be what they are because we dont see the underlying situation. War is horrible and this movie gave me a horrible dose of reality.
Now let me go mop the floor and drink some water before i die of dehydration.

The Forbidden Dimension - -1/10 - This is worse shit than a high-school movie production, and believe me, I know about high-school movie productions. The acting and quality of this movie are so bad that they cannot even pass off as a funny turkey movie. This was a complete and utter waste of time and the fact that this shit was peddled to reach any online market at all just shows how diluted the movie industry is right now.
All Is Lost - 4/10 - Reasonably half-decent movie starring Robert Redford who seems to age by 15 years right in front of you (and he's like 74 to begin with). The fact that a lot of the stuff in the movie are extremely contradictory makes me continuously question the authenticity of it. He makes a bunch of really silly mistakes, and has certain gear with him but not other, learns how to use a complicated measurement tools in what seems like a short while, but the way he uses it on-screen is wrong. If you just ignore details and minute details that radically would have changed the plot into "and he was saved" and watch it like a silent movie about a silly man on a boat, then it can be enjoyable at times.
Robocop - 4/10 - Reasonable "remake" of the original cult classic, adapted with a bigger budget and visual effects of the time. Unfortunately it's still a B-movie, something the original movie is forgiven for because it was quite low-budget and made in a different time. This one tries to shoehorn "humanity" and inner struggle into the plot whilst being an OK action-flick.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

I don't know, what was OK in it as an action flick? Everything was very boring and there was no suspension. He shot some drones, he shot some men, he jumped, he shot some drones, he struggled and shot some man. It was so boring.

Reboocop "Blackismoretactical" Edition - 5/10
Just like in the gaming word, reboots never fail to make me raise an eyebrow. This one crossed the line too many times, so much that I've become like Carlo Ancelotti.
Verhoeven's gritty and satirical style was lost completely here, that was a given. But they also turned the concept into something generic and hollow, derp-friendly, 100% suitable to the hollyaudience. Marvel-ized.
Not to mention the ridiculously bad action scenes taken straight from a Crysis spin-off, the obligatory CSI sooper dooper "enhancements" everywhere, the mediocre dialogues (which ruined the otherwise decent cast), mediocre directing (Padilha was obviously drunk when he filmed this). I never asked for this.

well im kinda glad you mentioned verhoevens STYLE, because this is something ive brought up before... it kinda irks me how people keep saying its NOT robocop... i mean really, robocop was primarily VERHOEVENS thing... it wasn't him doing robocop, it was him doing his style, and if this robocop was the same, then it would just be someone trying to DO verhoeven, and so while i did enjoy the violence in the original film, im glad they atleast did their own thing with this movie, because the worst thing you can do in a reboot is keep just trying to redo what the first guy did.
so yes, fine, say you (not you ixi, i mean the general 'you') hate it, but dont say its not robocop... its not verhoeven, thats all.
the starship troopers sequels are great examples of films that tried to mimic verhoevens style, not realising that it wasnt inherently linked to starship troopers, and thus because they didn't have verhoevens skill and style, we ended up with shitty embarrassing sequels that imitated without understanding...
so yeah, im glad they did their own thing with this film rather than mimicking verhoeven. if i want verhoeven, ill watch the original. if i want a clean looking easy-going scifi about a dude in a tactical suit being used by a greedy corporation, ill watch this movie.
