That's strange, I do disable (By removing the folders it archives, not the actual service.) search indexing for well I dislike it and it doesn't really bother me if it takes a while longer to search through content but it should find it regardless, there should also be a setting to search outside of indexed locations so you could see if that helps then, otherwise I don't really know why the search function has messed up like that.
(You can also clear and reset the search index cache option from the control panel if you want to but I doubt it's corrupted or otherwise damaged so it might not help with solving this issue.)

(Much like the windows disk defragmenter - unless disabled of course - the indexer will only run at low disk activity times or when the PC is idle in short, thus it won't affect performance and if it is indexing when you do start something else it'll halt and resume when there's less activity again so the performance gain from disabling it is also fairly minor, some other services work like this as well I believe.)

Yeah i've tried disabling indexing too, it never does anything, rebuilding the index doesnt fix the search either.. I googled it like 1-2 years ago when it annoyed the hell out of me and a lot of people have that problem with Search since the release of Win7, MS doesnt seem too interested in fixing it.

Well i'm uninstalling and trying some other mod tomorrow..

That Autumn Aurora mod looks really nice. I don't think I've seen completely new character models in any Stalker mod before.

Played CS for maybe an hour and never touched CoP. Very Happy

Would you guys recommend playing them with their "Complete" mods? Or would you recommend something else for each?

*EDIT* The CoP Complete mod seems to be a mess. Anything that actually does the job but is in the same spirit?

How far are you? I've just arrived at the "new" bar.

And are you even using vehicles? I bought one and parked infront of the "new" Bar for storage usages only.. rather walk on foot than to deal with all the bugs that come with them.
How are you dealing with them? (the cars)

If I tell you the location, I will spoil the game for you. I'm "past" the reactor Wink

You have some hours left after the new "bar". Make sure you also re-visit old areas for new quests if you care about stuff like that. But as you've seen some quests that are suppose to start when you arrive doesn't.

I've filed a report on their forums about the missing "super traders"

No I don't use cars at all, they look and act horrible. I'm going on foot, makes for a better experience in my opinion.

Have you seen the mutants battle against each other? Laughing

One user from another forum (croatian) is improving Lost Alpha. Ha made/remade over 150 (new) missions, graphics mode of 6gb and fixed almost all bugs and errors. He will send it to me over the postmail somehwere next week or week after, because the standard croatian internet speed is too slow for uploading such a big files.

He is almost 70 years old and is spending all days modding the stalker franchise. In the past he made sick improvements to vanilla games, misery mode, lurk and other popular mods. He never released them on the internets beacuse of the slow upload speed, but he was always willing to send DVD copies to people over the standard, offline mail Very Happy

Maybe when i get my hands on it, can somehow, somewhere upload it. Will keep you updated Wink

67 years old to be more precise Very Happy And yeah, he is cool as fuck. War veteran with abnormal weapon, scripting and programming knowledge Very Happy If he doesn't like something in some mod or stalker game, he goes and changes it to his liking. And since the Lost Alpha release he is literally spending all days and nights modding it and fixing all the bugs and other problems. He was so mad at the developers of that bugged mode and their inability that he took bugfixing work in his own hands Very Happy

Our Stalker hero! Laughing That's both epic and heartwarming. Very Happy I haven't progressed much because of some bugged stuff/random crashes that annoyed me, so if by any chance that unofficial update finds its way through the interwebs, I'll grab it for sure.

Yeah, seen it. Pretty cool to watch.

Played alot further but taking a break now.. (dat Half-Life reference Laughing). Switched from the Special Military Combat armor (which I found in Yantar, 50k worth or something, pretty good) to an Exosuit now. Can't sprint anymore but I figured that keeping a stash is kind of a waste of time in the mod's current stage. I rather have everything on me. Not sure what to do with money anyway since cars are a waste.

Checking out CoP-Misery and damn... it's such a "beautiful" piece of shit. Needs moar artificial difficulty (at least they officially admit it). Shame since many of the features are really amazing.

Lost Alpha seems awesome from what little ive played! Really dig the whole concept with the zone and its nature. Currently running it in dx9 all on max, should i go dx10 if so why?
Only thing i lack is depth of field as i cant seem to get enb/sweetfx to work.

Im also experiencing no footsteps, ive seen people mentioning turning things off in the meny which i cant seem to find, any easy cures for this?

And finally gameplay hint, so im outside this small house where i am to free a guy called "fox", it seems the people holding him turns hostile as soon as i show up. Is this how it goes or is negotiation part of the gameplay? If not im fucked with what little ammo ive managed to get ^^

Tested Lost Alpha for a while, looks really good but performance (DX9 Full Dynamic Lightning) is horrible, almost unplayable on a Titan, i7 4.9GHz. Though i'm also forcing super sampling..

I just read that a second patch is about to be released next week, nice, men.

If you need some fps without losing eye-candy, try to lower the distance/grass density to ~60%, disable grass shadows (performance hog) and set sunrays to low. Apparently many people have experienced improvements with dx10.1 if compared to dx9, so it's worth a shot. Razz
